Another week, another three gone in the case alone, not to mention Chloe earlier in the week. Even as you gain access to another floor, the ship by now must be starting to feel more empty than ever. It's been a long time by now, approaching two months.

Where do you think you'll be, in two months more time?

The clouds have begun to gather around the ship, this week.

[Today there are some posters up all over the ship with the following written on them:

Come to the spa later today for a night of relaxation! Even if you don't feel like relaxing with the rest of us, there will be food and alcohol provided! Please show up at least to say hello!

When you get to the spa, it looks like someone's been busy! Several of the tubs are set up with low light to make it feel more relaxing. There are even hot drinks near them for your hydration needs! Not to mention another table with bite sized appetizers that have been either stolen from the cafe or made by Reika herself. There's yet another table with goodie bags filled with various spa and self care supplies you can take back to your room.

Speaking of Reika she's acting the part of host fairly well, asking if she can help paint your nails or help with your hair or feathers or whatever. Maybe she can just sit there and listen to you complain about the Captain. Reika's here for you, either way.

Filbo is there too, naturally, maybe not as actively hosting as she is. He's with the snacks and alcohol. They might not be as active as some of the other parties hosted before but can anyone blame them? It's been a rough week.]

[Indeed, Filbo is hanging out with the snacks and alcohol. He's...not certain about what he's doing, if he has to be honest. When he started planning all this when Reika suggested it, he thought it was a great idea! And made all sorts of plans. Now, though, with the threat over families and loved ones...was it tonedeaf to go on with this?

That was why he scrapped most of the things he had thought of. Filbo couldn't bring himself to do it. He even has with him half-written instructions for party games, left aside. Didn't even finish writing those, really.

Still, as one of the hosts, he has to be there and do his best. Every time someone arrives, he gives his usual welcoming behavior]

I mean, I think the Captain's like 0/6 on actually making me worried about the motive but who doesn't like self-care?

[Scott's got some kinda mud mask thing slathered on his face. That's what spa means, right? You do a facemask and chill?]

[Perfect, Scott, you're nailing it!]

Exactly! You got it right. Reika showed me the right stuff to use around here, and even though I'd have liked to test everything for quality I doubt anyone would have wanted to have a host all soaked in a dozen soaps.

[He looks so glad Scott isn't worried about the motive. That's quite the lousy track record, Captain, is Scott the bane of your existence?]

[Flayn did say she would come to this party, and Reika promised to paint her nails, so she does come. You can see her just sitting in a chair patiently, kicking her legs a little as she observes the entire setup for nails. All the paints, all the tools...she's only heard about things like this, never experienced them.]

[She's bringing her things over and it looks like Reika's been practicing before the party. Those are some damn fancy acrylic nails she's sporting.]

I am glad I made it as well. [Looks curiously at those nails of yours!] Goodness! I did not know you could make nails look like that!

[They might not be as fancy as they can be but for someone like Reika?] I know a lot of people who are better at it than I. Something I learned when I was younger.

[To Flayn, that might as well be a special kind of magic.]

It is still most impressive! And you are still offering to do mine, yes?

[ As ever, Magica is not a party person in the traditional sense, and the brief appearance she puts in here does not contribute to lightening the mood in any way, shape, or form. This is not to say she would not actively enjoy going to a spa and relaxing into, like, a brimstone soak, as long as it was abundantly clear everyone else was forced to cater to her and absolutely terrified of her wrath, but this situation is not that! She's just gonna grab a goodie bag, eat some snacks, make some rude little asides, and on-and-off hold her hand over an aromatherapy candle for way too long.

The spa does bring a few aesthetic considerations up, though. For a good three minutes she stares evaluatively at her reflection in the mirror, combing out one of her longer locks of hair with her fingers and sort of holding it at its full length away from her head. You may or may not have seen her snipping her stupid intricate bangs over the bathroom sink, but the bob itself has gone pretty much untouched, and (physically at least) it has been almost two months. She repeats this process for the lefthand purple streak, checking to see if turning green again has also magically maintained her dye job, then sighs. ]

Where do they keep the nail scissors?

[Someone is watching her, she doesn't say anything but she's judging so hard. No stabbing in her salon day.]

... For my hair! Yeesh, get your mind out of the abattoir.

[Okay, fine. Fine. She forgot she needs smaller scissors, okay.]

[Reika took the time between the meeting and the party to do her own nails. She's wearing some fancy acrylic nails as she starts walking around the party. Apparently one thing she's good at is making herself look presentable, somewhat surprisingly, and she's here to make sure you look good too.

Or at least feel relaxed, slightly. Whatever. She smiles gently when you arrive.]

I'm happy you're here, truly. We need to stick together, after all.

...I suppose that we do.

[He's still in a terrible mood, but at least he's keeping it mostly to himself.]

[She's not going to say the obvious, thankfully. Instead she just nods.]

I admit this isn't much but it's what I could do.

No, it's...it's fine. You're doing well.

[Eh, sure, why not. Jasper is always up to treat himself, so after a nice, long soak in some excellent-smelling bath he's going to stretch out in one of the chairs because damn, it'd be nice for someone else to do his nails for a change. Shit, he could probably get his toes done, too? Damn. The full spa experience...]

[Filbo looks so glad someone's taking advantage of the stuff Reika and he set up. There he is, bringing one of the hot drinks he had set up for this night. It's more tea -- without lemon, but at least he did remember to bring a dozen sugar packets]

Ah, I thank you ever so much for this, Filbo. You certainly do know how to treat us all.

[he is ABSOLUTELY going for that tea and all of those sugar packets.]

Though, I must ask, have you reserved some time for yourself, as well?

Reika helped a lot with this all. I wouldn't have been able to handle all this spa stuff without her, that's for sure.

[Even though this party lacks the usual pizzazz Filbo aims for -- if you can call it that, he just strives for the active, very cheerful kind of parties -- given the motive; this time he's glad at least he was able to make his own small touches in it all. Hospitality can be difficult sometimes]

I...I actually have. Kinda. Trust me, I have been trying to take care of myself. I think I'm actually getting decent enough at that lately.

[Once he stopped feeling responsible for people's lives and wellbeing to an unreasonable extent, really. Took a long while to get there and so many people telling him to stop that]

[None of this really has...anything for Data whatsoever, but the parties typically don't. He'll show up here, look around for a little bit, and then leave if no one engages him right away. Sure, he's got hair, but there's no point in cutting it. Nails...well, he's never done that before. Maybe that could be interesting?

Regardless, he does return with his violin a little while later. Time to play some nice soothing music for your spa treatment!]

[It's hard to drag music into this place unless the choice for spa is the boombox and Constantine's punk band, but somehow he thinks it'd be hard to relax with the sound of Constantine's music blasting at you while you're in a tub. That violin music is...it's good! It's perfect!

He just has to approach Data and thank him for that]

It was all her idea. I think I wouldn't have dared to set this up if she hadn't suggested it to me.

[Credit where it's due, he believes, and as far as he's concerned most of it falls on Reika. Filbo asked her so many questions about the products in the spa while he was setting things up, really]

I think this is her way of trying to reach out to others. Great, right?
