SEVENTH TRIAL

[ After a while, Davy Jones comes and collects you all again. It's a much quicker trip than he's ever had to take for you all before. You all fit so easily into the elevator in the theatre now, don't you?

As he plays the song that takes you down, even Jones seems tired. But the elevator certainly isn't, moving just as dramatically into the depths of the ship as it ever has. You now know all the floors it passes on its trip down to the trial room, don't you?

And none of you even know that this is your last ride down. The end is coming. But that's for later, and not quite yet for all of you.

The crew of the Dutchman is... different, somehow, this week. There are more figures aboard, and they're all singing, well. Maybe Scott was right, that first week. ]

Ye know what to do, passengers.

[ Jones moves to the wall to look out at his ship, scowling.

The podiums are waiting.

Well...Jasper's death might have been an accident. The note might not have been meant as malicious, and something happened that resulted in him dying. The rest of it could have been someone covering up that it had been accidental.

They did deliberately attack me, and may have thought I was dead as well.

Out of curiosity, can you shut yourself down in a state like the one you were found in, Data?

I can, though it differs from sleep. When I choose to sleep, there are still sub-processes active that can allow me to register environmental stimuli and wake.

But you were knocked out when we found you, correct?

I was.

You wouldn't bruise if someone fought with you, would you?

I would not. I contain some liquid coolant, but not a sufficient amount to replicate the visual effect of bruising.

[Another pause.]

So, who's to say that you didn't tase yourself after setting everything up? I'd like to think that you aren't typically one to do this kind of thing, but...we've gotta explore all avenues, you know.

[Hm!]

The only evidence I have to the contrary is that the taser was not in my hand when I was found. I would not have had the ability to throw it after I was hit.

[Constantine rubs the back of his neck.]

...you know, now that I think about it, a taser could knock Jasper out? Maybe? That'd make it easy to move him around even if he was alive.

[Sure is a possibility]

I wouldn't know if it knocks people out -- even though Yeager gave me one it's not like I have tested it on anybody.

I haven't used any of mine on anyone either, so I'm not entirely sure how they work. For those who are familiar with them - could that explain why Jasper's hair was dry? It was wet with water at some point, but it looked like it had dried somehow.

Tasers work by delivering high amounts of electricity to the body. This results in the victim's muscles contracting, temporarily paralyzing them. They would fall to the ground and be unable to move - they could be rendered unconscious in the fall, but the taser itself would not do so. I do not believe it would account for Jasper's hair drying.

Thank you! I appreciate the explanation. I suppose that could have been used to get Jasper into the water, but that doesn't explain how he was retrieved.

It does not. Especially if the taser was used near the water - that could have proved extremely dangerous for the user.

Oh, good point. The taser was likely only used on you, then.

I don't think so--unless there was signs of hair standing on end and such, from the electricity. It might've just dried naturally.

No, nothing like that. You're right, I'm likely just overthinking it.

What would they have have hit, though? He was mostly covered in metal, and who even knows how that would go.

Wouldn't that discharge throughout his body, though? Since he was covered in metal.

With you, it definitely was intentional.

Jasper's armor is so heavy, it seems like it wouldn't have been an easy thing to do to him accidentally, though.
