Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

[For all that Adaman is trying his very damnest to keep positive, he has to admit--the meeting with the mayor and his assistant managed to shake him, a touch. Though Adaman has managed to keep himself rather level in appearance, he can't deny the fact that this situation is going to take some getting used to.

But moreover, Adaman knows he cannot waste time. Almighty Sinnoh has granted him this much, and he cannot waste it--for his sake, and for others. It's what sees him in the garden, early in the morning; he was there yesterday too, but if one looks closely, he seems to be taking some flowers from the garden and...weaving them together? It looks almost like a crown of sorts--one he'll take to the nearest window of the garden, where he goes to his knees and sets the crown on the ground in front of him.]

...Almighty Sinnoh, please forgive this paltry offering in your name. But I wish to come to you, to pray for the safety of the others and myself...

[He'll be in the garden for a while, at least, and you may be able to hear him praying when you come in. He's a little distracted, really, but sometimes it be like that. Though, once he's done there, he is going to look around and investigate the area some and see if he can find anything of interest...

Of course, the restaurant is also of interest to him, later in the afternoon; he doesn't know the first thing about how this technology works, so really he's just...pressing buttons, trying to read and...

Well, he's going to look at you for some form of assistance, here.]

Have you any experience with this type of technology? I can't seem to wrap my head around it.

[Please help him before he winds up ordering one of everything off the menu, that order is so congested right now??]

[For having spent most of his time aboard the Weak Anthropic Principle or on a dead planet like Clemency, he's got to say - the general alive-ness of the garden is pretty nice. Which is probably why he keeps coming back here.

Though, in this instance, he's clearly walking in on something.

He lets Adaman finish, but makes his presence known with some heavy footfalls to not terrify the guy.]

Almighty Sinnoh, huh? [He's sipping coffee through a straw. Don't pay too much attention to that.] Eh, that offering's not that paltry, if you ask me. It's got points for effort, at least.

[Ah--hello, Misfire. Adaman is thankful for hearing those heavy footfalls, but he only seems to perk up a bit when Misfire actually speaks. Is it out of trust or a sense of something else? You decide!]

Oho! You think so? Well, I am glad to hear that; it is but the least I could offer in almighty Sinnoh's name. I used to make these with my sister, you know; for the village kids. It was something I enjoyed learning from her.

[Still, Adaman does make to stand, stretching his legs and working out the kinks in one of his shoulders.]

It may not have been the best use of the precious time that almighty Sinnoh has given us so generously, but it certainly lightened things up. It is the least I can offer, in the hopes that we all remain safe, and that our time here may be less fraught.

I forgot how short your lives are - I guess that would make time seem pretty precious.

[He’s not commenting on the fact that someone could decide to murder any of them at any moment. At least, not right now.]

I’ll put more faith in this almighty Sinnoh listening to us than Primus - if he’s even out there, I’m sure he stopped paying attention long ago.

[ The garden! Where are you starting, Adaman? ]

[Hmm! Well, Adaman is quite interested in what could be in the pond, so let's start there! How deep is the pond, actually? If Adaman wanted to, say, look under a bridge, would be be swimming or would he be able to walk through?

Not that he's not keeping an eye in the water to begin with, but y'know, curiosity's sake.]

[ He'd be able to walk! It's about knee-high. There's also a good number of fish in it. ]

[Oh... Rossiu hesitates once he overhears Adaman, partially because this seems like a private moment and partially because the topic of religion in general tends to get him to pause. It's certainly not the same as what he experienced, but he always needs a moment to remind himself of that.

But he's been standing here long enough where Adaman has likely noticed his presence, so turning around and leaving is no longer an option.]

My apologies, I didn't mean to interrupt.

[Adaman's hands are clasped together and his eyes are closed for quite a while, his fervent prayers at least letting him be naive to Rossiu's presence for a little bit--still, it's hard not to notice when you're being stared at, and eventually Adaman does come out of such a state to look around and...

Ah! Adaman doesn't startle, but he does chuckle a bit at the apology, raising a hand in greeting.]

Peace, friend. You aren't an interruption at all! [Adaman doesn't move to get up from the ground, but he does grin from his position.] Is there something I can help you with?

[ Seo Dawon doesn't interrupt, though when he sees Adaman is finished, he does speak up. ]

Does your God ever answer you?

[Oh! Adaman turns to look at Seo when he's finished, and he doesn't seem perturbed by the question at all.]

Not directly; none of us have the ability to communicate with almighty Sinnoh so candidly, after all! [At home he means, of course. Which is hilarious for reasons--] But I can always feel their influence in smaller ways. Whenever fortune comes our way, or we've been kept safe for another night from anything that would try to attack us? That is almighty Sinnoh's answer to us.

At least, that is how I see it. [Adaman nods his head, absolutely affirming this to himself if nothing else.] Why do you ask?

[ Something in him reeeeeeeally wants to see just how much food comes out of the pneumo tube. But, Floyd grins and gives the system a once over. ]

Wow, you're really hungry, huh? Looks like you're about to order the whole menu and then some.

[ He snickers before straight up taking the card from Adaman and tossing it into the trash, then giving him a new one. ]

You pick something and fill it out on the card, and then it goes into the punch machine, and then the food pops outta that tube [ points ] over there. Easy peasy~!

[Let's be honest. Floyd is entirely valid in this endeavor, and when he speaks up, Adaman looks over at least a tiny bit aghast?]

Oh, absolutely not! [...] Though, to be honest, I haven't heard of even half of the things that this menu seems to tout...

[Still, Adaman listens rather intently as Floyd seems to explain it to him, and it makes sense to him! ...He honestly doesn't even realize how badly he managed to flub this up, but this makes a lot more sense.]

Easy peasy indeed. Huh! I suppose the matter is now trying to pick something that may actually be good... [Hm.] Tell me; have you ordered from this before? I am wondering if you might have a suggestion.

[Forrest enters the garden quietly; he's been spending a lot of time here since they first woke up, and he hadn't intended to break pattern today, either. But Adaman is in here, and it's fairly clear what he's doing, and so Forrest does what comes naturally in this situation - he finds somewhere to kneel next to him, and he bows his head, folding his hands up against his chest.

Whatever prayer he's offering up himself is a silent one, but it's still there; he finds that's what matters in the end. They'll be heard either way, he's certain.]

[Adaman's the sort to tune out the entirety of the world in prayer, really--to concentrate, in the hopes that perhaps his words, his thoughts, his hopes will reach the great and almighty Sinnoh that he and his fellows worship so. His words are surprisingly soft, given everything else about him--speaking little details of the others he's learned over these past few days, praying for the protecting of all of those...

It's when Adaman opens his eyes and lets himself relax a touch--when he's finished and looking around, that he spots Forrest and only starts slightly.]

Oh! [...Give him a couple seconds, he was truly gone to the world, huh...] You pray as well? I didn't realize I was not alone in such a thing.

Re: investigation

[Jonathan, who had been eyeing the menu himself, looks at Adaman as he realizes something.]

Oh, come to think of it, I do not know how this works myself. But it can't be hard, can it? I'm sure we can figure it out if we work together!

[He offers Adaman a confident smile. This can only go poorly.]

[Adaman looks over to the rather posh gentleman who greets him, and he winds up greeting Jonathan with a grin.]

Yes! I believe the saying goes that two heads are better than one, are they not? We'll figure out how this device works one way or another!

[they are going to die. dear god.]

But I confess--I have never heard of even half of the food on this menu, here. We don't have any of this in Hisui--is any of it familiar to you, stranger?

[ While he's in the middle of his prayers, there's a brief noise from behind Adaman that's either pained or distasteful, and then a long, awkward silence. Whether he looks for its source or finishes what he's doing, the end result is the same! This guy. The only thing that changes is what dumb act Nandor happens to be engaged in when he's spotted. ]

[For as unaware as Adaman tends to be in prayer, certain things absolutely can snap him out of that; a pained noise like that will absolutely manage to snap poor Adaman out of his fervent prayer, and he's up and on his feet in an instant--]

Who's there? Are you alright?!

[Aaaand Adaman is absolutely following the source of that noise, don't mind him! Just what is he going to wind up seeing here?]

[ The garden is nice. It's...outside, kind of, and it's outside but not raining. It's not raining, but he doesn't feel uncomfortable. That's good. That's new. So, Hodaka finds himself back there. He should've known others would have the same inclinations, and he's about to announce himself—

But the second he realizes what Adaman's doing, he freezes. Are his hands clasped? Are his eyes closed?

Hodaka doesn't say a single word. If Adaman doesn't notice him, he may stand there until he's done, looking pale. ]

[timegazer]

[The answer to both questions is certainly a yes; he's not silent in his prayer at all, at the very least, seeming to practically tell this almighty Sinnoh all he knows, and all that he hopes that they will protect. It's all kind, really, but definitely leads him to be distracted.

...Or well, distracted enough that he doesn't react to Hodaka at first; it is hard to ignore the feeling of one staring, though, and as Adaman caps off his prayer, he does look around and--

Ah!]

Oho! I thought that I had some company--what brings you here?

[He's casual as ever, when he says that, as if nothing is wrong.]

[She doesn't mean to stare, really. It was more so... seeing someone praying in a place like this hadn't been entirely expected. An offering, huh?]

Almighty Sinnoh...

I don't think I've heard of that god before.

[That may not mean much, if they really are from so many different places. Inter-dimensional... right?]

[Hm? Adaman perks upon hearing Mafuyu's voice, turning to face her with an easy smile.]

You wouldn't be the first here, at least! Back in Hisui, such a thing would be unthinkable; all who live there know of them.

[They've even had some uh, pretty big fights about that, but he's going to leave that part out for now.]

...Some of you have mentioned that, though, the gods of your own worlds. What sort of gods do you have in your own?

[Hanging out in the restaurant has its benefits, even though she doesn't need any food. Aiba decided to kind of make sure anyone there can see her convenient hologram in their eyes, in case they need assistance. This decision once again pays handsome dividends]

I hadn't seen this technology applied to restaurants, but I am familiar with it in general.

[It's pretty easy to figure for someone like her, really. There she comes]

First of all, I recommend you don't order so much food at once.

[Ah, if it isn't the young lady. Adaman thankfully doesn't say anything about it this time, if only because he'd rather not waste time getting time explained to him again, but--]

...I should get a new one of these...cards, then, shouldn't I? I wasn't altogether certain of what I should try first...none of this food is even close to familiar to me, all be told.

[he is too ancient for this shit???]
