Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Leafeon actually seems to respond to the greeting well; he'll nod his head and chirp a little bit in response there, nodding his little head.

But Adaman nods his head, in kind.]

Nor do I, all considered. But he came out as if he had been freshly plucked here, much like ourselves. And he couldn't seem to give me any information about what it was like in there...

[Leafeon kind of just makes a noise at that.]

But I am glad to be reunited with him. He has been my stalwart partner for quite some time, after all. [Though, Adaman's look shifts a bit, brows knitting.] Though I wish we'd been reunited outside of this place...the lack of sunlight is likely going to bother him some.

[onemillion]

While it is unfortunate he doesn't have any more information about the vending machine, it is good that he's unharmed.

[That's the most important thing, after all! As for that, though...]

Perhaps the garden will serve as a suitable substitute? While it isn't true sunlight, the plants do seem to be doing fine in there.

[Though Rossiu knows next to nothing about plants so maybe there's more to it that he's missing.]

[timegazer]

Hmm...I believe it might, but...

[Adaman's look goes to Leafeon a bit, who's...actually gonna sniff at Rossiu a bit, hope you don't mind--]

He is wild; he's used to having all of the Diamond Settlement and just a little bit beyond to explore. He always comes back when he's tired himself out, but...he enjoys it quite a bit, so it will likely be a shock. Especially since he loves to sleep in the sun...

[He shakes his head a bit.]

...Here I am, wasting my time worrying so much! You have my apologies, Rossiu; I'm certain that he will be fine. It will simply be much for my partner to get used to!

[onemillion]

[He doesn't! He'll even crouch down and offer his hand to Leafeon.]

Ah, with that in mind, I can see how it would be quite the adjustment.

[A much smaller and unfamiliar space, artificial light, and a complete lack of nature outside of the garden would be exceptionally weird for poor Leafeon.]

You don't need to apologize. It's understandable that you're worried about your partner. I do hope it isn't a difficult adjustment for him.

[timegazer]

As do I. But Leafeon is strong; I may not be giving him enough credit, all be told! He's always adapted when times have grown tough, and I'm certain that he will continue to do so!

[Leafeon will sniff, then! He seems a bit amused by the assertions that Adaman is making, at least, but he will go and just kind of gently headbutt Rossiu's hand. Ever the solicitor...]

I'm sure that meeting all of you will help him, too. Wild he may be, but he's always enjoyed the company of others, too. Most of his species have, in my experience.

[onemillion]

[Cute... If Leafeon likes pets, Rossiu will provide them!]

I'm sure that will help, to some extent. After all, we are quite a varied group; surely he'll enjoy the vastly different company.

He already seems to be already--truly, I can't help but wonder if he's going to grow spoiled from such things!

[sorry, what's that, leafeon can't hear you over all of these pets that rossiu is providing?? this is the liiife]

That aside, though, I must admit--this library is certainly quite expansive. I've seen quite a few books from where I come from, and so many more unfamiliar to me...have you found anything interesting, Rossiu?

[Rossiu nods, despite being the one providing the spoiling right now?? Shhhh.]

I have. I am glad we have access to reading material; I was starting to worry we would have to rely on the vending machine for that.

[I mean he definitely read the knockoff Trustfell book and the Bible+ but like. The selection here is so much better.]

[timegazer]

[Adaman laughs outright at that; not that he disagrees, honestly...]

Based on the book I've found, if that's the sort of reading material the vending machine is willing to provide, then it's certainly quite dry! I'll take what we've got in here over this any day of the week; there's boundless information here, and truthfully, I hope we can abscond with some of these when we get out of here. I'm sure the Professor would be quite happy to have some of the Pokémon encyclopedias I have seen here...

Having the opportunity to learn about so many other worlds truly is incredible. I do hope the Professor enjoys the ones you're able to bring back.

[So here's hoping that everything goes well and no one dies!!!!]

I'm certain that he will; that Laventon fellow will certainly be over the moon and stars, to say nothing of the rest of the Galaxy Team. Maybe I'll even bring a few of these back for Rei; maybe he'll recognize a few of these books, all things considered...

Oh? What do you mean by that?

[Is he... from another world...????]

I believe I mentioned rifts to you when we first arrived here, no?

Rei was someone who fell into Hisui from one of them. I haven't had the chance to pester him more about where he hails, due to things being quite chaotic back home...but he is one of the strangers from the rift who we have met. And a rather kind one at that!

[onemillion]

Ah, that's right.

[pretend i don't have the memory of a goldfish, shhhhh]

It would certainly be interesting if there are books here that he would recognize... I hope you're able to learn more about him when you return.

As do I. That boy...he never received a warm welcome when he arrived in Hisui, so I've been told. No one seems to have tried to understand him, and with all of his work for the Galaxy Team and my own business within the Diamond Clan, I have not had the simple opportunity to get to know him properly.

[He tries to make use of all of the time he has, but most of it does go towards important work for the clan. He can't just spend all of his time as he sees fit, after all.]

...I must sound incredibly silly, to lament such a thing. But given that he has managed to quell many of our noble lords and ladies within the territory...well, it is an effort I would like to meet in kind, should I have the time to do so.

[onemillion]

I wouldn't call that silly at all. You do have work to attend to before such a thing, but there's no reason why you cannot wish you had the opportunity for it.

[He gets that. You have to prioritize your time wisely, but that doesn't mean you won't miss what you could have been doing.]

I do hope he's able to settle in well enough despite such things. And I hope you have the opportunity to get a chance to know him better as well.

You're right. [Adaman sighs a bit, a little bit of a laugh in there, but...] There are some times where I simply wish I didn't hold all of these responsibilities, and I could do as I wish. But it's a silly flight of fancy; so long as I am needed, I have no intention of abandoning my post. But...

Perhaps Almighty Sinnoh will allow me the opportunity to carve out some time to do so.

But, I suppose while we have this time here, I shouldn't be wasting it prattling onto you about what-could-bes and maybes! Come; will you join me for a spell? I would be most curious if you had any suggestions as to good reading material!

Of course. Though I will admit my interests tend to be technological, so perhaps they won't be quite as interesting...

[He has been reading so many books about advancements in technology and other worlds' technology. The ones from Aiba's world in particular are fascinating! But come on, he's got some interesting ones here, surely we can find something fun...]
