Happy New Year! ... You're still here. Looks like The Captain wasn't lying when he said the murdering is now up to you. That, or you can all live here on your own. Regardless, it's time to settle in. The days start passing much less eventfully after that first one, and, well... on it goes, huh?

There might not be a whole cruise ship to explore just yet, but there are a variety of amenities available to all of you! Who ever heard of a boring cruise ship, anyway? As the week goes on, you might even start to see some of those strange coins appear for you!

Better buckle down and get to know your fellow passengers, though, if you want to stand a chance of weathering this storm.

[ Decus had been pretty transfixed throughout that whole performance, and had offered a hearty round of applause when it was over!! It's probably good that he doesn't have to worry about feeling like he needs to be able to meet that same performance bar, since he's pretty sure Alice was Extremely Not Into It... but honestly, it did look kind of fun.

Assuming for his own sake that Sylvando is approaching him during one of the brief periods of time where Alice has managed to get away from him, he smiles and claps his hands together in appreciation. ]

[He vaguely remembers smelling it wafting off of Decus on their first day, but it is like. So powerful right now.]

[ damn, this stuff is just SO EFFECTIVE!! ]

Technically Lady Freyja found it, but she recognized it as the scent I always use and gave it to me. I'm glad I didn't have to go too long without it; there's really nothing else that comes close to it!

[Oh no, he's so earnest about drowning himself in it... Sylvando's going to have to be gentle about this.]

It does smell rather lovely! [...from across the party zone.] Could I offer you some advice though, from one scent aficionado to another?

A dab here and there is more than enough.

[And he even mimics dabbing it on to further punctuate it.]

The goal with cologne is for others to catch just a whiff in your presence and be enticed for more. Right now, it's incredibly overpowering when I'm this close to you.

Oh... well, yeah, it's supposed to be! The more you use, the stronger the effect is!

And who told you that? Trust me darling, when I say "overpowering", I do not mean that in a good way.

Well, it said so on the original packaging... and it didn't really seem to be winning her over back when I was wearing less of it, so it seemed pretty obvious that it just wasn't enough.

Honey, that's... [He sighs and tries to think of the best way to phrase this.] Cologne isn't like some love potion. If she didn't like that scent, experiment with something else. Or better yet, try to find out what she likes!

Oh, but this one actually is!

It's called Eau de Seduction, and it's formulated specifically to make whoever wears it irresistible to the target of their affection (and others within the radius). I already saw it work on this one kid who couldn't stop staring at me! Alice's heart just isn't as easily won over as that.

[ Hence the higher dose! ]

What about any of us? Anyone falling all over for you yet?

Well, that John guy definitely seemed like it at first.

But... hm. Do you think maybe it doesn't work quite the same way here? Like how none of us can use artes or magic or anything?

Honestly darling, I think it’s more likely that you’ve just been duped. Besides, wouldn’t it be so much more fulfilling to capture someone’s heart on your own, rather than letting something like charmed cologne do the work for you?

[And this is him not even touching how he could do so much better than Alice.]
