[Well, it's safe to say that trial fucking sucked. Therefore, some sort of afterparty is in order. Constantine is admittedly not good at throwing parties without some sort of liquor or other drug involved, but that's where Data and Sylvando guide him.

First order of business--invites. Upon returning to your rooms, crumpled pieces of paper have been taped to the doors. Written in poor handwriting is the following:]

[Simple, but effective. The lounge itself has been livened up a bit with Sylvando's help. Some nicely patterned fabric has been draped around on the tables to liven up the place a little, and snacks from the café and vending machines have been placed out for people to peruse.

A few supplies from the first aid room have been gathered, as well, for those who may need it. But perhaps the help is unnecessary, as tomorrow will likely bring another New Years Eve. And with it, another week of despair and frustration.

But for now, they can forget about that and pretend that all that matters is the present.]

There's no way he can really be all-powerful. But I didn't even know magic existed in the first place, so I don't know if I can say something like that.

Well...just because someone can use magic does not mean they are all-powerful. In fact, I do not know if that is even possible to become all-powerful no matter what means are used. But he has some kind of tricks, and it grows ever more apparent that he uses them for his own pleasures, nothing else.

And anything that makes him happy hurts anyone else.

Sadly, it seems that way.

But I...perhaps it is a foolish hope, but. I wonder if that sort of thing will lead his pride to reveal something that we can use against him, eventually.

It could be. He's already sure that we're helpless because he knows all about us.

Fortunately, he is incorrect. It is impossible to know everything about a person.

And even if he did know it all, that can't mean there's no way to stop him, right?

That is right. Even those who claim they are unstoppable can in fact be stopped.

There has to be something. How would we find more about him when he never says anything?

Hm...perhaps there is a way to make him say more things in general? I mean, a way to speak to him. If spoken to enough, he may let his guard down.

[Flayn has no idea she can text the Captain whenever she wants.]

Have you tried contacting him with the phone? The one time I tried, he didn't give anything helpful.

Y-you can use the devices to contact him? I did not know that!

You can. The text and call options. They only reach him, though, we can't use them to call each other.

Hrm...

[That's lame.]

I suppose it is a means of communication I could attempt, if only to see what he might come to reveal.

We have something like it at home. Daytracers, wrist-mounted communication devices for anyone in range. They're descended from phones, which were carried around like these. These only call the Captain, though, so they must be simpler.

[Takes at her device and looks at it with a bit of a grumpy face.]

...I know I suggested my method of obtaining information, but if I can be honest? The prospect of actually engaging in conversation with the Captain is very displeasing.

He's hard to deal with and doesn't tell you much. I haven't tried Jones. I know some have, though.

Mister Davy Jones is a nice conversationalist, so long as you are kind to him. Not that I have felt any reason to be rude.

[He might think she's weird and annoying though...]

What kinds of things do you talk about?

I have asked him about his ship, and about his pipe organ. And I have also brought him food in case he was hungry. We do not see him at mealtimes, after all.

I see. You're easy to get along with.
