Because everything on this ship is awful, I think a drink is needed. Come get some at the bar, it'll do you some good as long as you don't drink too much

[Indeed, if you come to the bar you'll find there's one of everything. Filbo seems to have asked literally every drink he knows or has at least heard about, and lined them up from the most mellow to the strongest. There's one of each, so it's limited, take yours before it's gone! Or...ask Jimmy Buffett for more, he's right there.

Should he be encouraging drinking? He's not completely certain, but he had to do something! And this is as good as anything -- not festive because this is no time to be festive, but also social enough to encourage coming.

[Constantine is staring dully at the wallpaper when Scott speaks. He snaps back to attention, glancing over to Scott and giving him a look.]

Maybe you oughta ask Mr. Buffett about it, huh?

[He inclines his head towards Animatronic Jimmy Buffett.]

Look, I don't know how to handle [Scott waves a hand around.] this. I already tried just being depressed and sad when Ramona left. I don't really do angry. All I have are stupid jokes.

[You ruined a perfectly good comedy character, Handsome Jack. Look at him, he's got self-awareness.]

Eh, you don't just have stupid jokes. I mean--

[A pause. Constantine can't lie to this guy's face. Well--he could, but he doesn't want to put in the effort for someone who he hardly respects.]

Okay, well, that's a lie, all I've basically seen you do is say stupid jokes on this ship. And the weird effects around you. But dealing with shit using stupid jokes is possibly better than drinking yourself half to death.

I don't really like drinking for sad reasons. I like drinking with my friends, you know? [Even if he doesn't like beer.] I tried getting drunk when Ramona was gone and I ended up crying in the bathtub.

[Which, like. At least years of dealing with Wallace being drunk taught him something, he guesses? But it was not really a fun time.]

[Constantine can't really comment on that, because he's definitely had those moments...more often than Scott, probably.]

What do you think you'd do if your friends were here? I mean, seems like things would at least be a little better for you.

We'd all probably think about it for a few seconds then rock, paper, scissors to see who ends up killing who. [A beat.] Oh, unless you meant like. Kim or something was here instead of someone. Then I think we probably would've done something like what Freyja did.

[But more directly. And also probably in week 1.]

[Okay, that actually gets a laugh out of Constantine.]

Well, at least you're honest about it. I'm just surprised it took so long to try and think of a loophole.

[He rubs his chin.]

'Course, the easiest ways to not play by the rules is to just get rid of the rules in the first place.

[Scott visibly opens his mouth like he's going to say something and then seems to think better of it. It's probably better not to mention that if they were supposed to go against the rules, it would've happened already. That's the kind of thing these people think is weird and he just doesn't feel like explaining today.]

Yeah. Rules are made to be broken and all.

[Listen, getting Meta has Consequences! It breaks the flow of fate! Constantine's not one to question it.]

That's the spirit. 'cept when breaking those rules ends up killing you, then that's just a waste of energy. Like when the Captain--
