WE'RE STILL HERE AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS FOR GRUMP'S SAKE

[Well today was quite the unusual way. Filbo pretty much went into his room and collapsed on his bed and just fainted because hey, everything that happened? It's overwhelming. Bluuuuuuuh.

A few hours later, once he recovered somewhat, Filbo just goes and gets paper. This is a ridiculous situation, but...hey, no matter what, stuff needs to be done]

I know today was a really weird day, but let's try to gather and see what happens. There will be ice cream at the ice cream parlor in half an hour. With everything that happened we really should try to at least not forget we need to stick together for whatever reason.

[Geez.

Well, he goes and does exactly what he said: this time it isn't booze, it's all kinds of ice cream available for anyone who comes. The tables all have spoons and water because really, this is going to be a whole lot of sugar for everyone. Better this than alcohol, especially since things clearly have gone off the rails one way or another, so may as well gorge yourself with ice cream and try to gather your wits for whatever the next week can bring]

That may be helpful. I have decided to keep the area wrapped up, for safety's sake.

[It's not like he's bleeding, but he doesn't really want it rubbing up against a shirt all day. He'd be liable to start shedding burnt bits of skin. No one wants that.]

Of course, as I do not sweat or bleed, it will not need to be changed quite as regularly as a human's bandaging.
cethflayn: (gracious no...)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-15 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Understandable. But...does it heal similarly to a human's wound? Or no?

[Like do they need to go get some fabric and make you a new torso]

[Oh, honey.]

It will not. The damage will remain until I am able to access the repair facilities back on the Enterprise. [assuming that he ever does?] But it should not grow any worse.
cethflayn: (You have been most irritating!)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-15 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Furrowed brow! Someone made androids wrong, this isn't fair. Let androids grow their own skin!

That sounds so cursed but she's thinking it.]

Then are you certain bandages will be enough? I know, I know - it is not in danger of becoming dirty or infected, like a wound in flesh, but still.
ltcommandroid: (himitsu wo shiri tai)

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-15 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
The bandage is largely just to keep any of it from falling off.

[GROSS, THANKS BUD!]
cethflayn: (but if you think it is safe)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-15 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[Geez how do we heal androids, can you use Mend on an android, shame we can't find out. Sothis would probably be down for it, though.]

Then please be sure to let us know if there is any way we can assist.
ltcommandroid: (I've got a (secret))

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-15 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I doubt there will be one, but I will do so if I think of anything. As long as nothing like that happens again - [he taps his chest, it's really only there specifically] - I should not experience any undue trouble from it.
cethflayn: (A bit disappointing...)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-15 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
We shall have to equip ourselves with things that are flame-resistant, then.

[Not armor, armored units get roasted by magic fire easy.]
ltcommandroid: (I've got a (secret))

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-15 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
We shall have to attempt it, at least.

[what do we even have that's fire-resistant....]

Although I am concerned that this threat is too "magical" for me to have many ideas about how to combat it.
cethflayn: (o.o)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-16 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it would be better for us not to rely too much on armor. Knights who don heavy plate tend to be easily defeated by those who wield magic, where I am from.

Encasing yourself in metal would not be a good idea, when facing fire. I, at least, am nearly entirely metal.

[And the bits inside the metal are far less likely to, like, cook in there like an oven!]
cethflayn: (just hold on a moment)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-16 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
No, it is not. But most armored soldiers do not fare well against any kind of magic, reason or faith based, no matter the element. Fire, wind, ice, lightning...
ltcommandroid: (my heart is human)

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-16 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Lightning must be particularly bad.

[yikes!]

Although I am surprised that wind affects them so badly. Is it only because it is magical?
cethflayn: (Default)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-16 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Lightning can be rather fearsome, yes. But some schools of thought consider faith-based magic much more terrifying. Nosferatu can restore some of the user's health while taking it from their target, for example, and other spells, like Seraphim, Aura, and Abraxas, use light to deal devastating damage. [She can't use any of the last three, at least not as a playable unit, but that doesn't mean she's unaware of them.]
ltcommandroid: (under my skin)

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-16 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Interesting! He arches his eyebrows curiously.]

I am unfamiliar with individuals being able to do such things - though I suppose you could say that many of our weapons operate using light. [fire them lasers] Though we can control the intensity, to avoid doing devastating damage when we do not wish to. Those weapons mostly affect me just as much as anyone else.
cethflayn: (what is it now?)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-16 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[So Data can be harmed by faith magic, okay]

Those latter kinds of spells are based in one's faith in the Goddess, where I am from. Though I would not hesitate to say that faith in general works just as well. If one has faith in something, then it can give them strength.
ltcommandroid: (himitsu wo shiri tai)

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-16 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well sure but lightning would probably be worse]

Are you speaking literally, or metaphorically?
cethflayn: (line mouth face)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-16 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[Thinks about that for a second.]

Literal.
ltcommandroid: (Default)

[personal profile] ltcommandroid 2021-03-16 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Fascinating. In my world, religion is largely a personal pursuit. It has no bearing on one's strength or abilities, except perhaps in a metaphorical sense.
cethflayn: (what is that?)

[personal profile] cethflayn 2021-03-16 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it does help that the Goddess did indeed exist in a literal sense.
