Week 1
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.
Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.
And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!
No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY

pool
[It's sarcastic; the reasons are stress over the whole murder dungeon beneath the sea thing! Brett's in the pool, just sort of paddling around without any real purpose.]
no subject
[She looks over at him in the pool.]
You're a writer, then?
no subject
[He shrugs, a little sheepish.]
I wrote down some notes about what happened yesterday, but - not for any reason, I think. Maybe just to process.
no subject
Could I have a look at what you've written?
no subject
[He flips the notebook shut and offers it to her. Most of it is really just notes - he's copied out all of the profiles with a few personal observations about people he met. They're pretty much all factual, though, things like how Hodaka was soaked to the bone, or Forrest was upset and sitting alone. Not a lot of personal opinions.
After, he's also written up a summary of the confrontation with the Mayor and Eleanor. This is where his own thoughts come into play, mostly in the form of speculation about the two of them. It seems like he's concerned about Eleanor.
As she looks at it, Brett keeps talking.]
If I were writing about this for real, I'd get everyone's permission first. Maybe run some of it by them, before I put it out there. All of you, at least - I don't feel like I want the Mayor's approval on anything I say. But I won't. This isn't the kind of thing I could share, back home.
[Assuming he gets home again.]

I feel like you could probably play it off as fictional, if you did want to publish it?
no subject
[It's already been a bit traumatizing. To have people treating it like it's just some story he came up with...]
Maybe depending on how it all goes. I've never written much fiction before, but there's a first time for everything. I don't think anyone would question it.
no subject
I wouldn't want to die with nothing to show for it, you know?
[Her tone's a bit wistful, like she's thought about it a lot. This is a normal conversation to have.]
no subject
[Brett seems to slide into the wistfulness easily enough himself. Seems normal!]

[Brett's quiet for a moment, contemplative. That's just the kind of conversation this is. But after that moment, he smiles.]
Maybe I'll make you the main character. You're probably more interesting than I am.
