Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

Huh... That's all fine and dandy, but what's a podcaster's job, exactly?

Oh - I'm a writer, pretty much. It just means that I've also made something like a radio show. Do you know those?

[giddyundertaker]

Not a radio show, no.

[inaclearing]

Oh. It's just like a story that you can project over radios, like the ones we have. So it reaches a larger audience.

[giddyundertaker]

Aaaah... And I'm assuming there's more access to radios where you're from?

[ On a consumer level, he means. ]

Well - yeah. It actually mostly happens over peoples' phones, but everyone has one.

[Close enough!]

You can listen to the radio over the phone?

[ Now THAT is confusing. ]

...it's probably easiest to think of it like that. I'm not the most technical guy.

... Very well! Odd enough to say that everyone has a telephone in the future... You'd think one or two per household would be enough...

Unless the whole family gathers around the telephone to hear you speak.

They're mobile phones! You carry them with you - though, yeah, you can just put it on speaker if you want to talk to a group like that.

You carry the phone with you? Don't you need wires to connect to the phone operators, though?

[ Did you forget this man was from the 19th century? He's now thoroughly confused. ]
