Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

So they're just there to be disgusting and not even fulfill their intended purpose... It's fortunate that we have the garden here, I suppose. Perhaps they'll be happy in there.

I assume you obtained these from the vending machine, correct? Did you obtain anything that could be of use?

...It was mostly just several odd things, but...

[Oh, right, there was - he reaches into one of his pockets, pulling out one of those strange devices that is...absolutely a taser.]

I admit that I'm not certain what this does.

Be careful with that! It's a weapon.

[Well, far less likely to be lethal than, say, a medieval mace, but it still is a weapon!]

Most of the weapons I'm used to using are magic of some sort - this is actually something most here will recognize?

Correct! And don't press any buttons on it! Watch where you're touching that!

[Who will help this guy if he knocks himself out with a taser, goodness, careful with that thing!]

Well, yes, the...the lightning it was spitting out seemed dangerous, surely, but I didn't realize - this is to be used on people?

It is. Tasers are usually for self-defense, delivering an incapacitating shock to your opponent. It's rarely fatal, although that's not an impossibility.

[Aiba herself gets shut down when tased, too. Boy does it cause her trouble when it happens in canon]

It's good to know it isn't usually fatal, at least... Though I certainly won't be using it on anyone unless I have to.

[While he doesn't think poorly of anyone here, he's pretty aware that he's easily thrown around and doesn't tend to fare well in physical fights.]

I suppose you would feel more comfortable with a different kind of weapon, wouldn't you? I could inform you if I come across one you're more familiar with, instead of having to rely on a cumbersome weapon if you're attacked.

[as long as youre not a wyvern rider because we probably have no wyverns unless adaman has pokemon in the vending machine and one resembles a wyvern]

Perhaps so, though this sort of thing is easier to carry around than most other weapons - if I had a sword or an axe or that sort of thing, the only option would be carrying that heavy thing around out in the open, and there's more of a chance that the person I'd be using it against would die.

You carrying an axe or a sword would deter attackers. In a place like this, ensuring you won't be attacked is likelier to keep you safe!

[Or at least that's how Aiba is trying to deal with things, haha. Secrecy is part of the reason why she hides her true form but also killing a tiny little thing like her would be easy for literally everyone. If she can deflect any killing intent onto her projection she will be safe]

I don't know how much that would deter people, in my case... If people are going to think that I'm an easy target, they'll probably think that despite the blade.

[In fairness, he doesn't look like he'd be one to actually use it, and he also looks...pretty easy to body, honestly...]

...then let's work until we get out before anybody begins to believe taking action is a good idea.

[It's only matter of time, in her opinion. She already determined it's impossible everybody will survive, no simulation she ran says everybody will survive. Aiba underestimates how much death will be in the weeks ahead, though]
