Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

I don't like the idea of anything coming to harm. People or otherwise.

You're a gentle soul, aren't you? With an outlook I can get behind.

Ah... I do what I can for others. That's one of the only philosophies I really live by - it doesn't matter who it is, they deserve care as much as anyone else. Sometimes conflict is necessary, and I understand that, but I'd prefer as little harm be done as possible.

It's good to hear that someone else agrees.

Well, I don't have anything so concrete as a philosophy, but I'd rather get along with others than hurt 'em. And even if it's my job to get involved in the conflicts that come up, I'm happy I've wound up working for people who think like you--who do what they can for others wherever they find them, high and low. I think that's an admirable way to live.

It's the only way I know how. Which makes me fortunate, I think - I know some who haven't been as lucky as I am in that regard. They're still good people, they're just a bit...rougher about it.

Hahaha! Trust me, I know the type. Probably quite a few of them among us here, if I'm not mistaken.

They all seem a decent sort, really. Even if some of them are a little odd, I haven't had trouble with them.

Good to hear! I haven't met everybody yet--at least, haven't had the chance to really talk-talk like this--so I'm glad they seem nice. A few of us have already said we'd like to resolve this without incident, and civility can go a long way.

I hope that that much is possible, at least. It seems difficult, surely, but I suppose part of that also depends on how stubborn Mayor Fontaine decides to be, among other things.

Hmmm, well. If we have to have a little incident, I think I could survive if it happened in our dear Mayor's direction and not ours. Only if it helps convince him to let us go, of course.
