Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

[ ... That's strange. She saw Mafuyu head back into her suite, which is fine, but it's odd for her to stay in there when it's so early on in the day.

Mielle leaves her to herself for a while until curiosity and concern gets the better of her and she knocks on Mafuyu's door. ]

Mafuyu...? I'm certain I saw you go in here some time ago... is something wrong?

[sastruga]

[...It's a little quiet, at first. Mafuyu is debating whether or not to respond at all, at first. But... no, she can't just hide away in there.

She'll get up and head over to the door, opening it, smiling sheepishly.]

Ah... No, I'm alright, really. I'm sorry, Mielle-san, I didn't mean to worry anyone.

[honeyedtea]

Oh, there's no need to apologize! I just thought it was unusual for you to be spending time in there during the day... and I was worried something might have happened.

[ She tries to smile in return, but it's a little forced. ]

... you are alright, aren't you? You don't seem quite yourself.

[sastruga]

Well... something did happen, I suppose. Ah-- I'm really fine, though!

[She's quick to add that in, lest Mielle starts worrying even more.]

There was just an incident with the elevator...

[honeyedtea]

The... elevator...?

[ She considers that for a moment – and then a hand flies to her mouth in shock. ]

Oh, goodness! Did the mechanics fail?!

[sastruga]

I don't think it exactly failed, but... it did stop. I was stuck in there together with Dandy-san and Igniseri-san.

[So you know, a great gang to be stuck in a small enclosed space with.]

We ended up leaving through the escape hatch and ended up on a new floor.

[honeyedtea]

... It's good that you weren't alone at least, but...

[ She can't quite work out how to word the unease that idea inspires in her, so she decides to move on. ]

What happened while you were there?

[sastruga]

We found ourselves on a different floor. Igniseri-san went off towards one room, and... I went ahead on my own to another. There was music playing, so I just... went towards it.

[AS YOU DO]

I think I upset Dandy-san a little.

[honeyedtea]

You just wandered off on your own...?

[ Just LOOK at her face when she hears that. ]

No wonder he was so upset! You could've been putting yourself in terrible danger, Mafuyu!

[sastruga]

Ah, I just--

[At the very least, she has the decency to look a little ashamed, now.]

...No, you're right. I shouldn't have done it. I really don't know what came over me.

[honeyedtea]

It's good that you understand but... things are already quite dangerous here as it is. It's not as though I have any reason to be worried about the others thus far, but...

[ After a moment of palpable hesitation, she reaches and takes Mafuyu's hand in her own. ]

Will you please promise that you won't put yourself in such a dangerous situation again? I can hardly stand the thought of something happening that we could prevent.

[sastruga]

[That makes her pause a little. Mielle taking her hand like that. There's an error message going off in her brain and it's almost as if time freezes, just for a moment.]

...Alright.

I promise.

[honeyedtea]

... that's good. Things are awful enough as it stands.. and I don't want to lose a friend if it can be helped.

[ She's still holding Mafuyu's hand. Her fingers are a little cold. ]

If something dangerous happens again... please let the others protect you.

[sastruga]

[There's some silence again, as she lets those words sink into her. Right. She isn't on her own here, be that for better or worse. They all have to rely on each other.

It wouldn't do to worry anyone.]

...Right.

[And she'll put her other hand over where Mielle is holding hers, gently.]

I'll do my best not to let anything happen, Mielle-san. So please, don't worry any further.

Okay?

[honeyedtea]

[ She forces a smile. ]

I'm quite certain I'll do more than my share of worrying while we're here, regardless. But I'm glad to hear you'll be watching out for yourself.

[sastruga]

The least I can do is remove one source of worries for you.
