Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

[ Hodaka doesn't shy away, but he doesn't really react either, not yet. ]

I don't...have anything really to say, and...you were just praying, and...

[ He trails off before he even begins. What is he apologizing for? ]

[...Oh, honey.

Adaman listens quietly for a moment, and slowly, his hand lifts--possibly brushing by the boy's cheek for a moment, before Adaman attempts to plant his hand on Hodaka's head and ruffle the boy's hair a bit.]

Do you think that I mind it? That you have nothing to say? I find that time spent in silence is far from time wasted, you know. [Ruffle, ruffle.] If you think of it, you can always tell me. But you have nothing to apologize, for, Hodaka. I can assure you of that.

[ Adaman really isn't that much older than Hodaka. But in this moment, it feels like that isn't the case. It feels like he's the leader he introduced himself as, a reliable senpai to lean on and listen to.

The closest thing he's had to that was Nagi.

His face colors gently as Adaman ruffles his hair. ]

You're...really nice. [ Distant. Surprised. Grateful. ] You know that?

[...Aww, cute--thankfully, Adaman has the basic decency not to say anything about it, just kind of continues ruffling.]

I do always try to be, unless given a reason otherwise! And you have done no such thing, my friend.

[ Ah- well now his hair's getting messed up...but he doesn't particularly want to remove Adaman's hand. Instead he just sinks his neck down into his collarbone. ]

Mmm... 'Kay... If you say so.
