Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

Yesss. Not to brag or anything, but I did come up with the name. [ He pats Scoot II: Disarming Boogaloo on his soft, disarming head. ] Was thinking about Scoot Bakula.

........ Like, the Quantum Leap guy?

[She's about to mention that she's pretty sure that guy's name is Scott and not Scoot, but then she remembers Raccacoonie and decides that maybe somewhere in the universe it is Scoot Bakula.]

I... don't know. We thought he was a Count, it turns out he is just some guy — you know how it is.

Is he known for leaping about? I would not have pegged him for a Jiangshi, but then again, it was only a Zoom call.

........ I am pretty sure Scott Bakula is not a jiangshi. [A beat.] In most universes.

[She cannot, with 100% certainty, say that there are no universes where Scott Bakula isn't a jiangshi.]

Technically, yes. There is always, somewhere, in some universe, a chance that some impossible thing is true. Sometimes humans have hot dogs for fingers! The multiverse is vast and really, really fucking weird.

There's infinite universes out there, man, and the ones that are weirder than you could ever dream of way outweigh the ones where everything's as you know it.
