Week 1

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.

Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.

And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!

No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to the first week of Unknown Seas Round 3! We're very excited to have you. Please make sure to mark any investigation toplevels accordingly, and you can reach either Mayor Fontaine or Eleanor for conversations! ]

Only so long as someone's dumb enough to fall for Fontaine's scam.

I like everyone here, I think. [A pause.] Well, maybe not the guy with the stupid haircut. He's a bit... much.

[She means Dandy.] But still I don't think the people here are killers.

Oh, that man cannot be trusted. I think I would argue with you that none of us are killers, given that I have been in the military considerably longer than you have been alive.

[He leaves “and thus I have killed SO many fuckin people” unsaid.]

I do, however, get the impression we see each other as allies against our captors and that we are better served uniting against a common enemy rather than targeting each other.

Oh yeah, I mean... I'm an adventurer, so I've definitely killed people for school and stuff and out of self defence, but I don't think any of us are like, evil or whatever.

I'd like to think not anyway... It's better if we can all work together.
howveryglib: gaius looking just a little bit surprised. (a weapon to surpass ultima...)

…They have schools for adventurers where you are from?

[he sounds maybe a bit incredulous…]

In any case, though, I do agree with you. I hope things turn out in our favor.

Only in Elmville... it's a bit of a weird town. We're the country's best export, so we're pretty highly valued.

[Good thing he didn't clarify which type of school. Then she'd have to reveal they have an elementary school and a middle school for them too. Luckily they don't make those students kill people.]

Well, hoping's one thing... I'm going to try my best for everyone's sake, and get us out of here.
howveryglib: gaius with a hand up to his chin, thinking deep thoughts (yeah... tacos sound great for dinner.)

Hm. It does sound like something of an unusual situation. I know Eorzea tends to rely on adventurers for various things, though that has more to do with a lack of stability and large numbers of displaced individuals with combat experience than intentional career choices.
