[That... that was a thing for everyone. There should be no celebration for Lif but, well, even if Rhea has a very cynical view of such things it's probably for the best that everyone stays together. Her first stop is the cafeteria, after all nothing better to keep people in one spot than free food. There she bumps into Mira, leaving the snacks to her Rhea ends up writing notes to everyone to come to the cafeteria in a few hours.

Some she hands personally and if she can't find someone she slid it under their door. Rin's she slides into her room regardless.

Fortunately, you won't hear a sermon.]

...would you believe me if I said the weight of this all hadn't truly dawned on me until just a moment ago?

[Shelley rubs her eyes with the palms of her hands]

I knew being here was horrible, but seeing the worst case scenario is sobering.

[Of course she had been taking everything seriously, but she had hoped it wouldn't come to someone's death.

...and, as callous as it may sound, she would have cared a little bit less if those involved hadn't been two people she liked]

.... I believe you. And... I can't exactly blame you for that.

[ Mira, though... it doesn't quite feel real. ]

I-- I'm not sure I could have ever predicted that. Is... it the same for you?

I didn't see it coming at all. I knew there was motivation, but I wasn't sure if it'd work.

[And it did. And then everything from the trial happened]

... I was hoping it wouldn't.

[ Especially because, like Shelley, she really liked both people involved. ]

And now... we have to pick the pieces up, don't we?

We do. For their sakes.

[ She lets out a breath. ]

... But, anyway... How are you feeling? ... It's probably unnecessary to ask, but....

Like I got punched. It's hard to believe I won't get to talk to them again. Aela listened to me when I needed someone to talk with, and Lif was nice and kind to me.

I'm going to miss them both a lot. I wish...I could have done something to help them.

[philoxenia]

[ .... yeah. She bites her lip. ]

I'll miss them, too. I admired Aela a lot, and Lif, he-- He reminded me of someone very close to me.

.... I wish we could have done something to help them. But-- but desperation... it's such a powerful thing.

Do you think this would have happened if they had known we'd all die if anyone got away with it?

I can't say for sure.

[ She tips her head back, staring at the ceiling. ]

But I want to believe it wouldn't have.

[drladysounds]

...I guess it means anyone who acts from here on is a terrible person.

[Since everyone is now aware of it]

I wouldn't go nearly that far. It... depends on why they do it. Intent... I think intent is everything. Then again--

[ She sighs. ]

I don't know. It's-- it's such a complicated situation, I think.

I'm telling you now that if I ever feel tempted to kill I'm coming to you. [...um...well that didn't sound too great] To talk! Because I don't want that to ever happen.

[My first culprit role in Dreamwidth was with Shelley being the culprit of a case. It was fun]

[ Listen, she likes Shelley, but even that got her to freeze up. Oops. She relaxes, though. ]

Well... I can promise I'll listen. And... do my best to talk you down from it, if you need me to.

[ She pauses. ]

Losing more people--I certainly don't want that.

[Shelley is so centered in her own needs she doesn't realize her request makes Mira hesitate. In fact, she continues, as if this wasn't an unsettling request in many ways]

Exactly, I don't want that either. Which is why I'm willing to do the same for you whenever you want. We're going to have to support each other in any way we can.

[And apparently that means being one-on-one in these murdery times. Not the smartest move ever]
