Funeral Service for Adaman and Hodaka Morishima

[ An hour or two after the first trial's end, Hild and the Undertaker set out to invite as many people as possible to the Restaurant for the funerals of our dearly departed friends.

Why the restaurant of all places? Because there aren't enough chairs and tables elsewhere.

Indeed, some of the tables have been moved against the wall to make room for the seats. The chairs have been set up in four rows of six, like an improvised theater or a church. To the side, a small buffet has been set up courtesy of Obi, Mafuyu, and Hild. As for the main event? Two tables have been set up and decorated in black fabric and white flowers. In lieu of a live viewing, two drawings referenced from the profiles have been set up in the center of funeral wreaths... They're not the best, due to the artist's handicaps, but it does look like Adaman and Hodaka at least.]

[Brett folds his arms, close against his body. He can't quite reach anger or even disgust right now; his head's buzzing too much.]

I guess so. He said - it was what he could prepare for.

But– why?

[ Her voice cracks a little as it comes out, not quite to the point of tears but close. ]

Why is he so eager to put us in the ground? Isn't it bad enough to have that wretched Fontaine pitting us all against one another?

[inaclearing]

I - I don't know.

[He looks at her, actually focusing for once, frowning.]

I would...just try to ignore him, if he's bothering you. Some people just enjoy being morbid - to shock people.

[honeyedtea]

[ After a moment she nods, lips pursed together tightly. ]

The last thing any of us need after today is another shock.

[ Least of all Mielle. If anyone so much as says boo to her at the wrong time, she might just drop like a rock again. ]

[inaclearing]

That's definitely true. Maybe he'll...cool it a little, after this.

[Brett's actually not too sure of that at all. But if it is just the guy being edgy, maybe this would jar him out of it? Probably not, though, he is literally an undertaker.]

[honeyedtea]

I find it hard to believe he could get it out of his system so easily.

[ She says that with a pretty respectable amount of scorn. ]

But he won't have any further opportunities to make a production of it like this.

[inaclearing]

...yeah. Yeah.

[Hopefully not, anyway. But he doesn't need to say that to Mielle.]

It's not...bad to have pictures of them, at least.
