Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Sunday arrives ahead of schedule again, bringing with it the creeping dread that this is just how this is going to go. Welcome to the murdergame cycle.

At least there's another section of the city available to you! This one even has some things to do without you having to make your own fun. Which also means there's more to find about this place.

There's still over 20 of you alive... maybe that's something to celebrate? It could be worse! But... at least one of you is an attempted killer, apparently. Either way, better keep talking if you want regains!

Oh, I'm so glad you like it! If you find anything that needs adjusting or mending, you can always let me know and I'll fix it up for you.

Those really are quite high compliments. The embroidery took a while, but I think it was time well-spent.

It fits really well, actually! I've never had anything tailored for me - we just buy all our clothes off the rack, like the ones in the department store. And anything hand-embroidered like that would be expensive.

[Geez, look at this. He's really happy with it, but it also makes him feel a little sheepish? It's quite the gift.]

I wish I could make you something in return.

Perhaps you could write me something one day, if you particularly wanted to. But I don't ask for anything - this is just something I like to do for people. I feel more like myself now that I have something familiar.

Maybe I'll try to sometime.

[He doesn't want to promise anything. Brett doesn't really write things for people, other than employers; it's not as though he's a poet or something. He's been working on some stuff about this place in general, though. That's sort of similar.]

That's nice - being able to do what you love here. I always do find it easier to...lose myself in a project.

Yes, exactly - I've always felt better being able to do things with my hands, to be able to see and touch my progress. We all tried to find ways to do what we loved back home; I always loved the garden Midori made in the area we were living in, but I don't think I could ever make something like that. It involves getting far too dirty for my liking.

But I suppose it is part of the reason I go there to pray here - it reminds me of her. But you said there's a church here?

Yeah, just down the way - that building that's all boarded up. It's dusty inside, like it's sat empty for a long time...

[Brett folds his arms, thoughtful.]

I'm sure most of these buildings have, but you wouldn't know it to look at them. I think it must have been shut down before whatever happened to all the people here.

...I have to wonder why. It's a place of worship, yes, but in the end they're only buildings; the only reason they have meaning is that people give it to them.

[Brett shrugs.]

Maybe it had something to do with that schism. If people were...gathering there, in ways he didn't like, maybe Fontaine decided to shut it down. I can't imagine that would change anything, but...

I can't imagine what they could have possibly been worshipping in there that he wouldn't have liked.

...Outside of "anything other than him," I suppose. That seems like a fair answer.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised he put in a church at all. There's not even any Fontaine branding in there. There's a lot of symbols, actually - I didn't even recognize most of them.

Oh? I'll have to go see if I recognize any of them; I doubt I will, but...

[Seeing as the Dawn and Dusk Dragons exist, perhaps there's a symbol for Nohr or Hoshido in there.]

You might! There's a pretty wide variety - from all the worlds of the people who used to be here, I'd guess.

[Which brings up an odd question: has there ever been anyone from their worlds here before? Brett doubts he'd even be able to tell if there were any representatives from his own. It's a big place, after all, and he only knows...

...well, one person who went missing. But he was not the kind of person you'd want in a place like this.]
