Week 4

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Sunday arrives ahead of schedule again, bringing with it the creeping dread that this is just how this is going to go. Welcome to the murdergame cycle.

At least there's another section of the city available to you! This one even has some things to do without you having to make your own fun. Which also means there's more to find about this place.

There's still over 20 of you alive... maybe that's something to celebrate? It could be worse! But... at least one of you is an attempted killer, apparently. Either way, better keep talking if you want regains!

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to the fourth week of Unknown Seas Round 3! Please make sure to mark any investigation toplevels accordingly, post your ac, and you can reach either Mayor Fontaine or Eleanor for conversations! ]

Do you recognize anything on the menu? This is all...appetizers, I guess. Classic bowling alley food.

...I recognize chicken tenders. I believe those are nigh universal. Other than that, it is generally variants on things I am familiar with that are not quite the same.

That's too bad. There's something to be said for nostalgic comfort food, even in a place like this. Orrr maybe I'm just sick of high-end stuff.
howveryglib: how do people do descriptions for characters who don't emote all that much. (there he goes with his dumb little wave)

The offerings here do seem to suffice, even if I do find myself missing the specific foods of my youth. I suppose it makes a certain amount of sense for the fine dining to be more international in nature, though.

Bowling alleys aren't really known for their foreign cuisine.

[Which works out just fine for Brett, but he sees how it may not for everyone else.]

What kind of dishes are you used to?
howveryglib: gaius looking off to the right... (please do not discuss the chicken thing.)

When it comes to my homeland, I rather enjoy things like pelmeni and blini, though I cannot say if there are equivalents to those you would be familiar with. I will say that I have traveled enough that I have things I rather enjoy in all the places I have been, though I will admit that it is rare that I have found something I did not enjoy.

It's good not to be picky, especially if you travel. I do, a lot, but really only in my own country. There's regional differences, but nothing so extreme that you wouldn't be able to find something familiar around - especially if you just eat at the same chain restaurants every time. Those are places with locations all over, but with the same menu.

[He figures you may not have chain restaurants? Anyway.]

What goes into those dishes you mentioned? Maybe you could try making them here.

Ah, certainly. Some of my countrymen refuse to partake in the local cuisine if they can help it, so we do often have some Garlean options…

In any case, they are not too different from dumplings and crepes, so I have considered it. There is something about the specific varieties from home that I miss, though…

Yeah. I feel like most cultures have some dish along those lines, but it's not...really the same, if you can't get the exact same ingredients and everything.

[And really, Brett is not a good enough cook to offer trying to recreate it, rip]
howveryglib: he's so very serious. please chuck him in a hildibrand event or something se (sometimes i actually feel 56)

Especially if you are looking for a specific brand of frozen food over which you can melt an entire stick of butter...

[he feels like it should be kind of shameful to admit. but he will admit it all the same.]

Oh, I was talking about store-bought pelmeni with an unhealthy amount of butter on it. Surely there are objectively better preparations, but on occasion we are allowed our indulgences, I believe.
