Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Sunday arrives ahead of schedule again, bringing with it the creeping dread that this is just how this is going to go. Welcome to the murdergame cycle.

At least there's another section of the city available to you! This one even has some things to do without you having to make your own fun. Which also means there's more to find about this place.

There's still over 20 of you alive... maybe that's something to celebrate? It could be worse! But... at least one of you is an attempted killer, apparently. Either way, better keep talking if you want regains!

That's a...sub-type of mage?

[Brett's not really into jrpgs, so.]

I've never really heard of magic where you use books to cast spells. I mean - I've never heard of real magic at all, before here. But you know what I mean.

Mages come in several forms. Healers are mages as well, technically. But dark mages specifically specialize in combat. They're fairly specific to Nohr, from what I understand.

My father is one, and so am I. His own tome, Brynhildr, has been blessed by the Dusk Dragon himself.

[So it's like. Ultra-powerful.]

It'd be nice if we could get something like that from the vending machine.

...It would, I suppose. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use it - Brynhildr is mine now, and it's an incredibly powerful weapon, but I don't want to use it without full understanding of and respect for what it's capable of.

Ah. Well, fair enough. This is a particularly bad place to be throwing around weapons we don't know.

Is that the only one you got?

I have a staff that I use for healing, and a few other tomes that I use to fight. Brynhildr would be our best bet, though, if its magic were to work here.

...Honestly, I think I would be willing to try to use it if it were to help us defeat Fontaine.

We'd have to find him first. Wherever he's holed up.

[Brett sort of doesn't believe it'll ever really happen, but it's still a little fun to talk about.]

We will. He doesn't seem the sort to remain hidden forever.

People like that... They like to control things from the shadows for a while, but eventually the need to take credit for their work catches up to them.

You think so? I can't say I have a lot of experience with...anything on this kind of level.

[He doesn't like the thought that Forrest does, but he can...believe it.]

There's someone from Nohr that's rather like that. The last battle I remember being in - shortly before I came here - he felt the need to face us directly, rather than continue to impede us from a distance the way he had been. He's a rather distasteful man; he's who Mayor Fontaine reminds me of.

Why'd he decide that? It'd be a lot more dangerous, and he must have been important.

We didn't have much opportunity to ask. Much about the battle wasn't in our favor, and we had to kill him in the end.

From what I could figure out, however, it seemed more that his ego wouldn't allow him to do otherwise.

Well, I hope you're right. At least we'd stand a little more of a chance, if Fontaine would come out of hiding.
