there's always a lighthouse. there's always a beach party.
[ Welcome to... a very nice beach, actually! It's very pleasant here. Carmen has set up a couple bonfires, there's some barbecues with meat to cook... and a lot of beach to hang out on! ]
Welcome to California's Pigeon Point Light Station State Park! Between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, just south of Pescadero, this lighthouse gets it's name from the Carrier Pigeon, a ship that wrecked here in 1853! ... Sorry, old habit. Go party. We have the whole place to ourselves. Most everyone here's been through something like this, or knows someone who has. And... the vending machine's bringing in some friends of yours, too.
[ It's a warm late summer night - not too hot for bonfires, but not too chilly that you need to stick by them to survive.
You've made it to the end. There are fellow survivors to meet and commiserate with, friends to meet or catch up with, and... it's over. For those of you returning, it's been about a year since the end of Round 2, and Carmen's gotten the word out to as many people as she can between trying to help this round and tracking down Round 0. If you'd like to play a hostage from the first motive, just know that they will remember it, but it's up to the player in the main round if time has passed since then or not so... it may have been a day or two ago or it may have been months! And hell with it, if you want to play a Round 0 character you suggested back in r1, come talk to us. Why not?
EDIT: Asher has gone to the trouble of making a toplevel directory for anyone intimidated by the number of pages!
Enjoy the last log of Unknown Seas! You've earned it. Love meme will come later tonight in the ooc comm. ]

[Not all that much bc he died three weeks in but hahaha don't worry about it]

Ehhh, I'm not very good at it, My Lady.
[But he turns that smile towards Brett.]
I'll have to pick up some tips from the circle instructors before I drop by for the next lesson.
no subject
[he'll be lucky if peregrine doesn't put him through some kind of grueling training regimen probably]
no subject
[Also, you never know when you're going to need to know how to spin-kick a werewolf or something in the face, Brett.]
no subject
[THERE'S NO WEREWOLVES PROBABLY]
no subject
Um, yeah. Why...?
[Obi swings one arm in a grand gesture as if presenting Shirayuki to a gathered audience.]
My Lady and her team have bred a new species of flower to plant along the main northern roads. They're a non-toxic version of a different plant whose blossoms light up and glow.
[His expression is kind of glowing itself. He's so proud of her.]
Once they've flowered, they'll sure be a sight to see. And they'll make the roads a lot safer to travel, too.
[Luca can get some rad as hell photos out of them.]

That...that sounds really nice.
[Weirdly so, after the events of the past few months - just a small pretty thing. Sightseeing. He's getting too emotional over it, probably.]
Luca would love it. He's a photographer, you know - oh, he just went to grab us some drinks... [WHENCE]

Ah, I see! So you're married and you work as a team. That must be wonderful.
[Obi leans towards her to stage whisper:] Not unlike the five of us, huh?
Obi! None of us is married to Zen. [But she's laughing.]
We're all a little bit married to him. 'Specially Mitsuhide. [He looks like he might say something more, like, 'You should get way more married to him soon, My Lady,' but he manages to curb the impulse and returns his attention to Brett.] You'll get to meet Master, too, if you come by our way. It's kinda tough for a prince to get away otherwise.

[Geez. Now that they're out in the real world again, or something approaching it, the concept of other worlds is hitting him oddly all over again. He can just go to other dimensions? And meet royalty?]
That sounds...man. Would we have to dress up or something?
no subject
Haha, no, definitely not. We'll sneak him out incognito to the castle town for drinks, we'll all be way more comfortable.
Including Zen. [She nods, trying to encourage.] Don't worry--I didn't even know he was a prince when I first met him. He's actually surprisingly normal!
Pfft--! [Obi turns aside to cackle into his fist. Poor Zen. No respect.]
no subject
[He's relieved! Sure, he wants to meet Obi's friends, but Brett's just a regular dude. He was a little uncomfortable meeting with Sandra, even.]
Well, you're all welcome to visit me anytime, too. We don't have anything like glowing flowers to show off, though. It's pretty much just trees.
no subject
[Obi steps forward and puts a hand on Brett's shoulder.]
You have no idea how much I miss just trees.
no subject
[Should've taken him out there! Oh, well, real woods are better anyways - as long as you aren't lost in them.]
Well, Whitetail has no shortage of those. You have to be careful not to get lost, out there.
no subject
[The direction of this conversation tempers Shirayuki's smile a bit, but shifting closer to Obi keeps it on her face.]
Even now, when we need to find Obi, the first place we look is the nearest tall tree. [She looks at her guard and brings her smile up again. However agonizing their search had been over the last couple months, Obi's once again here where he belongs, at one of his friends' sides.] I think he used to spend more time up in the branches outside Zen's study than he did in his own room.
What can I say? It's a convenient spot to nap.

[Brett's gaze darts between the two of them - he's perceptive enough to pick up on something going on there with that. His expression falters a little, but...no, he doesn't need to pry. They're past the point where him prying sufficiently could end up being life-or-death. Things can just be not his problem again.]
I could take you to Chicago too, we just don't have as much space to put people up there.

Trees! I pick trees!
[Shirayuki laughs.]
We'll just have to visit more than once, won't we? After all, it's not like we won't keep in touch. [With a decisive nod and a smile, she straightens her shoulders.] Looks like you'll be writing a lot more letters from now on, Obi.
Haha! Guess I'll have to get better at it. Master's always complaining about my reports. ...It all right if I write to you, Brett?
no subject
[Physical letters! How charming! Brett's excited - he has no real idea how they'll exchange them, but he reckons the details can come later.]
I'm sure I'll be more obnoxious about it than you are. I haven't done any real writing in months.
