[That was, in Rose's opinion, even worse than last week. Any loss of life is an awful waste, but for it all to come of some horrible accident...

This week, she doesn't retreat back to her room. She knows now that the people here, or at least enough of them, like to gather after these experiences. Many of the Crystal Gems were the same way; she remembers their post-battle huddles well. It's not a party, really, but...it's good to be together. To have friends around. Maybe, to remember those who were lost.

So this time, she'll go to the cafeteria herself and request some food for everyone. It's just basic snacks, the kind of human food she knows well enough to ask for. There's some hot chocolate provided, too. She definitely knows people enjoy that. It doesn't take too long, since she isn't making most of it, and then she goes to invite everybody she can find.

She doesn't slip any notes underneath doors, for the people she doesn't happen across. Some Crystal Gems didn't join the groups, or maybe did after one battle but not another. Sometimes they wanted to be alone. She never really understood that...but it wasn't her place to tell them otherwise. Weren't they all about freedom?

Everybody probably knows something like this is going to happen again, anyway. It's their choice to come.]

No. No, not at all. I think she'd... I think it's important to remember her.

[Better to remember someone and what they did for you than push it all down and move on.]

It's a shame I didn't know her very well.

...She was enthusiastic and sweet. Wanted to make things for people, repay them in some way. Had multiple fashion degrees, and certainly put them to work. Worried about being judged. And... She missed her dad, a whole lot.

[ Della's eyes are closed as she recounts what she's learned. It feels like so little. ]

Sounds like she was creative, and it shows. I never had a head for fashion, but I know I'll probably keep wearing this tie.

[Takes a sip.]

I miss my dad too.

[ Della's got a scarf back in her room that she's sure to treasure as well--but, she can't quite say that, right yet. ]

...I don't really remember my parents well, to be honest. They... There was an accident. I didn't understand it very well. Uncle Scrooge... He raised me and Donald since we were little things. But I... I miss my family.

...I'm sorry to hear that. [Sounds rough, and familiar. And enough to get him talking.] When I was a kid, my home was attacked. I hid, but... my parents didn't make it. I ended up at an orphanage after that, met the people I call family there.

[He raises his glass.] Here's hoping they're all doing better then we are.

[ She gives him a rueful smile. ] I'll drink to that.

[ And a moment later: ] You got any paper on you? A pencil?

[Just this look. Then he's digging through his pockets.]

Any reason why?

[He produces a notepad and pencil.]

Eh. Sometimes some entertainment's nice in times like this. Fancy a game of X's and O's?

[ Now, she says this? And she makes at drawing up a square set? But she's very careful about her writing. Wait...what is it she's writing?
