Zerinda and Ema are here in the bar to make drinks, and Mira's brought in a ton of food that's definitely not healthy for anyone, but screw it, who cares about health right now?

Della's here to pass out invitations, too--they let everyone know there's a gathering in the bar, if they'd rather not be alone.

If you choose not to come, well... Mira's got that taken care of, too. She'll place a little container of cookies and hot cocoa outside your door. Maybe it'll help someone feel a little less alone--at least, that's what she's hoping. ]

On Homeworld it's only permitted for soldiers to fuse for battle, and only among the same type of Gem. I've never fused with another Rose Quartz - [for SO MANY REASONS] - but Ruby says it's different like that. Maybe because their resonance is all so similar. That's why they all wanted to shatter Garnet so badly. [well, those first bits are, the rest was just a bit of a tangent]

Do Rubies and Sapphires have a huge class difference or something, or is it just not allowed full-out?

It's not allowed at all - but also, they do. Sapphires are rare gems, aristocrats. Rubies are common footsoldiers. They're considered disposable; Blue Diamond meant to shatter Ruby for their fusion, and keep Sapphire for herself.

Oh! He's a musician! I met him at one of his concerts, and he decided to stay in Beach City so we could be together! I didn't want him to abandon his dreams like that, but he said...well, he said it was what he wanted.

That sounds great, honestly. It's been a while since I've really done that with people. I mean, I'm married and everything, but it's... I don't know, it's kind of different than that.

I didn't know you were married.

...I'm not saying I don't love Annette, because I do. But we're not really close or anything. We got married when we were young and stupid, and we're not really compatible as people. I don't know, at this point it's more like we're kind of friends that just happen to stay married because we have a kid together.

It's nice to have a friend, at least...

[Rose can certainly imagine worse situations to be in. But yeah, she does understand that this is not typically the point of marriage.]

Do you wish you weren't married?

Actually, no.

[So at least there's that.]

It'd be different if we didn't like each other or something. But we're okay with each other's company, and we both love our daughter, so it's honestly not too bad, all things considered.
