Kirei. I was looking, well... [She gestures to the plants.] I usually just come here for the flowers but on occasion I do make some herbal remedies. I am just surprised at how many I recognize.

Poison is a cowardly method but unfortunately I believe that might eventually happen.

I doubt those willing to kill in the first place would care for the morality of their methods.

If they should have conviction enough to plan murder in such a way, the perception of cowardice would mean nothing. Only that their target would be dead, and that they might escape.

If you cannot kill someone with your own hands then they lack conviction regardless. Any one can slip a poison into an unguarded meal.

I disagree. There's no difference between poison and any other method--in fact, I would go far enough to say the method itself is unimportant.

The result is the same regardless, yes, but let me put it this way: if you cannot stand to drive a dagger into someone's heart then you have no right to use poison to circumvent it.

What does a murderer care for the world's view of what is or is not their 'right'? Disagreeing with the validity of the method makes it work no less well.

Why, I would think you would understand exactly why out of everyone else here. Unless you have grown so distant from your own order.

The only thing that matters to the Eighth Sacrament is preserving and executing the will of God. The methods of doing so are a distant second priority. Yes, we have methods enough that resorting to things like poison is unnecessary, but assassination for such a purpose is seen as pious a service to the Lord as any other.

'For such a purpose'. Do you understand? Yes, perhaps, some would see poison as a needed evil but equally there are others who would shun it. Assassination takes many forms. Admittedly, poison is very ineffective as a tool.
