I wonder how much faith she really had in everyone being brought back, and how much of that was further self-justification. [She already had the "save the world" vs "spare these few people" balance going on, after all.]

Yeah...it's good to know we have some way to communicate, but I'm not banking on them actually coming back. [Even the miracles that can revive the dead have a time limit between initial death and unrevivability.]

Definitely. I'll be happy enough if we manage to keep in contact with them while we're here and they don't end up trapped in some kind of purgatory when we leave.

That would be nice. I don't...do humans usually do this when they die?

There's stories, and some Ghost-types seem to have memories of being human in some way, but generally...once someone dies, if they're not revived in time, their soul's just...gone, somewhere they can't communicate anymore. I don't believe they just disappear...but also stuff like this is usually the stuff of scary stories, not something that just happens in plain sight.
