Oh, I never said I was a Saint.

[There's that sort of high-sounding "I want to laugh nervously but also not" sort of sound to her voice that keeps it from being stilted - because she's not lying. She never claimed to be anything.

But, ah, reading material...usually I am allowed free access to academic books, such as magical theory or tactics. The monastery I live in also has quite a few records on historical events that are available for perusal. And, given my brother's position in the Church, he can approve my requests to read some of the more delicate scriptures the monastery keeps preserved.

[It's honestly more to catch up with being plunked into a country that developed a religion while you were asleep than it is religious scholarly pursuit, but, semantics.]

However, my brother has also gone through the trouble to confiscate and ban things like these romantic books, so I thought I ought to make the most of them while no one can take them away.
