So far, good news! You've managed to avoid killing! A week has passed in the facility, but how many more are there to go until one of you tries out Rule Seven? I mean.... we know, but.

No new areas just yet, it remains you guys and yours here for now. Well, and Angel, but again - you don't exactly see her unless you want to. It's more than a little lonely... maybe someone ought to shake things up.

Worked with? What do you mean by that? [She comes a little closer to get a better look at the blobby leech boy.]

[The leech is neither friendly nor hostile; it's just gonna keep doing its leech thing. Which for now appears to be just sort of oozing its way along the tunnel glass.]

Well, we study them. There's a disease where I'm from that's killing a lot of people, but these guys thrive when exposed to it. Figuring out why that is might help us work out ways to improve our own chances.

...huh. They're not contagious or anything, are they? [She watches it ooze along for a bit more, head tilted curiously.]

It shouldn't be. I've been handling it today and I've generally been fine... It wasn't the smartest move I've ever made, I'll admit, but I picked it up without thinking when it came out of the machine earlier. Since I'm not dead yet, it looks like the odds are pretty good.

Oh, it's that fast? I guess this is one that hasn't been experimented on yet, then?

It wouldn't be this huge if it hadn't been. I guess it's possible that this is one of the later-generation ones that's adapted to it, but it's not like I can ask it.

Oh, I see. And it looks like we don't really have any equipment here to test that...it'd probably be on the Professor's side.

If I had equipment like that here, I'd never leave the room it's in.

[Seeing as that sort of thing is his job and all. ...Never really thought he'd miss work like that, but it's to be expected by now, he's pretty sure.]

What, you'd hire one of us as your assistant to bring you lunch and dinner? [Though her tone is pretty jokey there.]

As long as this hypothetical assistant doesn't mind being paid in useless stuff from the machine, sure. I don't really have much else that I can pay in.

[It's likewise joking, though. Easy.]

[A playful shrug.] I suppose that depends on whether you find more value in the coins to get the items or the items themselves.

I definitely prefer going through the stuff that comes out myself, I think. I've found some personal things in there.

Really? Maybe I should give it a go sometime, then. [Most of what she saw coming out were the gag items, after all.]

Speaking of that leech...is it okay if I touch it? [She's kinda curious, okay?]

Oh... Yeah, it should be. I don't know how much it'll care for being touched, but it's not going to hurt you or anything. It doesn't seem too inclined to bite.

[Oh nice. Time to reach out and squoosh the leech.] Huh. Feels pretty different from an Eelektrik. Their skin's smoother than this.
