into each breaking wave
[ Well, that was — no pun intended — unfortunate. ...But in light of what they already saw happen the first two weeks, maybe it's not really that surprising, either; and maybe it's at least a little easier to recognize when something is going to be a lost cause, if not necessarily to accept it.
In spite of everything, this is the first time Decus has been in a halfway decent mood after a trial, which he can gather is... probably not the case for most of the rest. So he figures he can take on the party host duties for this week rather than push it onto someone who needs a break. Anyway, he wants to keep up this feeling-okay thing for as long as he can, and if he has too much downtime and starts to think about what happened a week ago today... he might end up a little less okay.
So, he brings some food down to the buffet from the cafes for a little variety (even though most of them probably aren't going to be too picky at this point), along with some tea and cocoa from Starbucks and a few harder options from the bar, and gets that all set up in as welcoming an arrangement as he can manage. And...
Well. Despite how he may come off sometimes, he actually is self-aware enough to realize that some of the others might not appreciate being reminded that he's still alive when three people who'd never had any intention of killing are dead. It doesn't really bother him, but he doesn't want to create unnecessary drama, either; so he doesn't put his name anywhere on the invitations he puts up around the place, just a simple:
food and drinks at the buffet
...Which is almost always the case, technically, this past week excluded, but hey.
And while he might come by to offer a drink or something to someone who looks like they need it, he's mostly going to hang back and let everyone do their thing. ]

It's likely cruel, but that's why I'm not speaking to Flayn tonight. All I want to tell her is that she's extremely fortunate that no one told Lorna what she tried to do, especially since she had the gall to hug her and go on about being her friend while blatantly disregarding her feelings moments before.

[It'd be more cruel to say that sort of thing when the wound of Lorna dying is fresh, no matter how right Freyja is. Sometimes you have to be tactful, really]
Believe it or not, I don't disagree. She shouldn't have done that. But I don't think Flayn meant to disregard Lorna's feelings. She must have been so desperate especially because they were roommates and she must be feeling guilty about not having been awake to stop Lorna...
[...]
I-It's not like I'm trying to find excuses for her. But, you know, when you're trying to do what you think is best for others sometimes it just...isn't as good as you think it is, and Flayn probably will realize it. She'll regret what she did, once she has some time to think about it.

[Seriously, though.]

[He wants to think Flayn had some sort of plan. A boneheaded, dangerous, really bad plan, but a plan nonetheless. But he seriously can't imagine what it could have been if she did]
Could it have been if she had all her powers she'd have been fine? That's the only way I can think this could have worked, in which case...that doesn't really...make any of what she said seem any better, I guess.
[Forgetting she didn't have her powers and abilities that could have made this actually work. Still, 'divine flesh', was it? Did she intend to exorcise the spirit once it bit into her?
Sometimes bad ideas simply are bad ideas, Filbo, don't think too hard about it]
Maybe I should just give up in trying to make some sense out of this all.

[Good fucking lord, it has been a day.]
I suppose what matters is that we're alive for the time being.

[Sigh]
Do you think there are other...uh, secrets like that one among us? Someone who's hiding something Jack could aim at like he did with Lorna?
[Because really, in Filbo's opinion, that was all planned to get that spirit to kill. Nothing more, nothing less. Perhaps it was a coincidence the spirit managed to overpower her on Thursday night, really, but other than that it just seems planned]

I don't know. I suppose there might be, but... I'm concerned that we won't find out until something else happens.
