WEEK 8
Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.
Your numbers have officially dropped to single digits. One of you managed to kill the first of the major living obstacles to your collective freedom. A ghost or demon or something nearly killed you. It was a weird week.
The cruise continues on, roller coaster back up and running as ever, arcade free and clear of coins. The last free floor of the ship is open, as well as part of the top deck with... well, something you might expect to see way more on a cruise ship than anything else here. One way or another, you get a feeling you can't shake - things are going to end soon.
No rain yet, but the clouds are closing in fast above you. A cold wind blows during the night, sending the ship gently rocking. Around midnight or so, if you head to the deck, you can hear thunder in the distance.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to week 8, everyone! Remember to turn in AC here and coins for regains over here! If you wish to get in contact with the npcs, Davy Jones is over here, and "The Captain" is over here! And as requested, profiles are accessible here. ]

Filbo is there in the crafting room, examining the sewing machines. Nothing that looks too different from those he has seen before, really. He's far more used to doing things by hand, though, these machines are a bit of a mystery to him]
Uh, do you know how to sew? I do, but, uh, I haven't ever made bags. Or backpacks. I dunno where to even get started with those.
[Planning ahead, yup.
Once he has gotten started with his project and goes to take a break at the pub, he's hanging out with the darts, throwing at the target. Aim is decent, technique is absolutely pitiful but at least the majority of the darts have reached the board -- whether they hit where Filbo wants is another matter, though. Still, he seems to be having fun just getting used to the darts, yup. Possibly will be decent enough competition against other average people]
Hey! Wanna give this a go? Darts aren't too difficult and taking a break from time to time is good for you. It'll be fun!
pub
Sure, why not? Been a few months since I've done this. Better than sitting around and feeling nothing but impending doom.
[He gets up from his seat, stretching and rolling his shoulders.]
Well, I mean, impending doom has kind of been the theme of the last few weeks, but it feels a lot...worse, for some reason.
no subject
I know, right? I was looking outside and things are getting kinda dicey. This isn't gonna last for much longer. I'm expecting the ship to start sinking or something in a day or two.
[Frankly once endgame comes he'll be surprised it took eleven days to get there]
At least we got a warning this is all gonna be over, right? Better that than getting caught unprepared!
no subject
If not from the storm, from whatever battle Davy and "the Captain" are waging below deck.
[He takes another shot--this one dings off the side and falls to the floor.]
The thing is, I don't know how to be prepared. I always have a plan in mind--or, well, I usually do--and now, face to face with what can only be described from a demon from hell....
[He trails off, running a hand through his hair.]
no subject
I dunno either, but I'm preparing stuff! You know, in case we need to get outta here in a hurry. Uh, I dunno if I'll have nine of them ready in time; I'll just try anyway. I know if we have to leave the ship it probably means we're...not gonna return home, but better that than dying, right?
[Something needs to be done and that's what matters here. May as well use the time all these forewarnings have given them]
I know running away won't stop that thing, but if it's after our lives, surviving should delay disaster for a while or...whatever it's trying to do.
no subject
Nice shot!
[He seems to mean that, genuinely.]
Living another day to escape's better than anything, I reckon. What are you preparing, anyways? Is there any way that I might be able to help? I mean...I'm just an old con man, so s'not like I can contribute with any real skills.
[If he sounds self-deprecating, it's at his own expense.]
no subject
Nothing too impressive, just...stuff to be able to survive out there in the open sea for a while? Or on deserted land for a while? It's not really much because it's hard to find the right stuff here on this ship, but I'm trying.
[Food that will last for a while being the main problem. So far he has gathered military rations from the vending machine and oh boy those are not a fun time]
no subject
It's still smart. If we plan on gettin' out of here with out skins intact, we're gonna have to plan for what escape might look like.
[A pause.]
That is, uh, if the kraken doesn't try to stop us. But we'll have to deal with things as they come, I suppose. Just as we've always done.
no subject
[Filbo shrugs]
He did save our lives, you know. There's hope when it's about Davy Jones helping us if we manage to give him the chance.
[Probably. At least Davy Jones has some leeway despite being under the thing's orders, it seems. Otherwise it wouldn't have been able to tell everybody to go to the elevator and all -- he didn't lock it and force everybody stay in the trial room or something]

crafting room
[But Data's pretty good spatially, so he can probably figure out how to put a bag together regardless? He tilts his head at the fabric for a moment.]
Why are you making bags?
no subject
[Well, if he had to be honest he'd say they'd need a lifeboat to get off the ship in the first place, geez, but Filbo sure won't be able to make a lifeboat, haha]
It's just to try to be ready, in case something happens. Better to be caught prepared to some extent!
no subject
[Data definitely thinks we should be worrying about a lifeboat first, but yeah, alright.]
I do not personally have many belongings I care to bring, but having a convenient way to carry Parker and Spot could be for the best.
no subject
That's...gonna be even tougher -- but necessary. There's no way we're leaving the cats behind.
[The cats have done nothing wrong and didn't deserve to be brought into murdercruise in the first place so he feels so bad for them, save the innocent animals]
no subject
I suppose I will start on that. [He stands and goes to look for some thicker fabric to contain Catte.] I believe I can draw a simple design for a backpack, if you would like.
no subject
[He has been taking a look at the threads available, trying to figure out if any was stronger than the others -- pretty much judging by thickness, really]
I'm just glad that if anything bad's coming it wasn't right away. I mean, you saw the clouds outside, right? It feels like at any moment it'll be a monsoon right on our boat.
[If there will be some major disaster to face, it's good they have some forewarning, really. This year he has seen twice natural disasters wrecking the place he lives in one way or another, a third one in the form of a storm is clearly a pattern saying fate is out to get him]
no subject
I did. I do not believe our new captain will be as willing to wait on our actions as the last.

crafting room
I have only really done things by hand or with a fun-sized forge, so I would not be much help in using those machines.
no subject
[Filbo shrugs]
I guess as long as the job's done it doesn't matter how long it takes, right? I mean, the machines probably just are to make it quicker.

[Better to be go with what he's comfortable, Jasper is right. Where are the needles, again? Welp, time to find them]
no subject
[who knows what the ship being haunted is going to lead to...]
no subject
[Maybe the thing possessing Jack's corpse is actively drawing the clouds closer, in which case this ship will suffer the consequences in no time at all!
More like in eleven IC days, hah. That it comes slowly also makes it eerie, that's for sure, but Filbo will wake up every day being like 'wait the ship is still intact?']
no subject
[SIGH......]
no subject
...the only good thing is that it means this all will be over? One way or another? Better that than having to wait forever...I guess?
[Sure is stressful that it's going to be over! But it's an ending and that's what matters. All they have to do is survive the ending and they'll be a-okay.
Possibly]
