WEEK 8

Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.

Your numbers have officially dropped to single digits. One of you managed to kill the first of the major living obstacles to your collective freedom. A ghost or demon or something nearly killed you. It was a weird week.

The cruise continues on, roller coaster back up and running as ever, arcade free and clear of coins. The last free floor of the ship is open, as well as part of the top deck with... well, something you might expect to see way more on a cruise ship than anything else here. One way or another, you get a feeling you can't shake - things are going to end soon.

No rain yet, but the clouds are closing in fast above you. A cold wind blows during the night, sending the ship gently rocking. Around midnight or so, if you head to the deck, you can hear thunder in the distance.

Oh, come now, it is not all bad, I promise. It is actually kind of fun to hear others discuss the actions of my past in glowing terms.

[Oooh yes Saint Cethleann? I heard she was like - so beautiful - super beautiful and kind and also the greatest, do go on~]

Really? What kinda thing have you heard?

Many things. Almost all of them quite flattering, if a bit exaggerated at times - the tales of the War of Heroes claim I had miraculous powers to heal the wounded and dying, but in truth, I only have as much power as anyone else could wield. And, if overused, it can exhaust me just as it exhausts anyone else.

[But boy oh boy would she love to have any healing magic in this place.]

So you're like this huge inspiring figure at home! Well, fitting for a saint, I guess. Exaggerated or not, it's a tale of heroism. That's fantastic!

[And hard to imagine Flayn as this all-powerful healing figure, as if she walked around and with her mere presence made the wounded and weary get revitalized wherever she was going. Filbo has no doubts she did her best, that's for sure]

[Listen, as much as it's probably better she be humble? It is really nice to hear people praising her. Isn't that the same for everyone?]

Only from my past! In my present...well, I was technically leading my own battalion into battle under the Professor, but she is more the inspiring figure of this era, and I do not mind that in the least.

[Hah! Well that's true]

Oh, right! The one in charge now! [The Professor, somebody Flayn very clearly admires, from what he remembers] You know, I think you haven't told me much about the Professor! Why don't you tell me all you want about her?

Really?

[Oh. Oh, Filbo.]

Well, then! Professor Byleth Eisner is most certainly one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. She is calm and thoughtful, but also fierce and courageous. She always seems to be able to find things we have lost, and uses her intuition [aka repeatedly going through her inventory until she gets the right answer] to find the item's owner! And she always tries to make sure to invite everyone to a meal or to tea if there is the time. I have found myself very fortunate to be able to partake in both multiple times. She can outfish almost anyone at the Monastery, and loves to pet and feed the stray animals that live there as well. At the same time, I have also seen her overcome insurmountable odds on the battlefield. She will do whatever it takes to leave a fight with just as many allies as she entered it with, and her skill with a sword is unparalleled. I think she would like you very much, Filbo.

[Byleth would be absolutely linefaced baffled, maybe even surprised Pikachu face baffled, but quickly decide, oh, okay, Filbo is shaped like a friend. Definitely that's what would happen in Flayn's mind.]

[The way Flayn talks about Byleth makes Filbo wonder if maybe she's a saint too. Look at all the great things Flayn has to say about the Professor! Every word is undeniably positive! No wonder she's the most inspiring figure in present times]

Wow...she sounds like a wonderful person! I see why you look up to her so much! I...I think I'd like her a lot, too, she must be awesome.

[With someone like her in charge Flayn's home probably is going to be a-okay, that's for sure]

Hey, if you say she can outfish almost anyone at the Monastery, does that mean she outfishes you too?

Hm...well...to be completely honest? Yes, she would. But I am not sore about that fact. She is happy to share her catch with everyone, including me, so it is not as if I am missing out.

[Seteth, though...everyone outfishes Seteth.]
