Friday morning comes as it so often does. The hallways of the ship are still. Things are... surprisingly normal. As normal as they can feel on a cruise ship populated entirely by a few surviving members of your number and whatever the heck The Captain has become.

And on top of that, it's quiet. The voices of your loved ones no longer ring in your ears, gone as suddenly as they came.

But that would mean...

[ There is no traditional-smelling/appearance blood present outside of the wound. ]

[Gotcha, so this is probably Jasper's version of blood. This might as well happen, everything on this boat is already so goddamn weird.

How's the rest of Jasper looking? His armor's banged up, but what about his gauntlets and hands? Anything there that's interesting?]

[ Nothing too interesting there, but near one of his hands on the floor there's a vending machine knife with some of the same "blood" on the blade. ]

[The murder weapon... probably. Anything else to note about this knife? Does it looked like it was damaged at all, possibly from hitting armor?

And while he's looking around... are Jasper's swords here? Presumably he had them since he's wearing his armor...]

[ It does not seem damaged at all, no!

And they're not directly relevant to the case, but we've put in the question so put a pin in the sword issue and we'll update you. ]

[No worries! If they aren't case relevant then it's totally fine, Yeager will just steal them like every other goddamn sword he's run across, don't worry about it.

But hmm... Something about this still seems weird. He's going to double check Jasper again - any head wounds? Any other signs of injury anywhere? Would it be disrespectful to strip the dead and check for more injuries...... probably.]

[ No need to strip the poor man - there's something off in the face region! Aside from the large bruise, that is. ]

[Did someone punch poor Jasper... he deserved it in canon, but not here!! What's up with this bruise? Where's it located?]

[ It's on his cheek! Hasn't disturbed the frothy foam in his mouth and nose, though. ]

[Ah. Poison it is, then!! This lines up with what we've established in the past re: poisoning, correct?]

[ Not quite? The consistency is different. ]

[Hmm... Weird! Different how? Is it "this is poison but a different kind" different or is there something else weird about it?]

[ Well, there are no other poisoning symptoms, for one thing! No smell, no discoloring...

The only other thing Off here on his head at all is that his hair is kind of messed up, like it got wet and then dried. ]

[...So someone faked a poisoning?? Wow, talk about dedication. Fake poison, fake blood... What next??

Well, his hair, apparently. This doesn't look like any sort of natural drying presumably, so what, did someone take a blow dryer to his hair??]

[ Nope! It's doing the sort of... stuck together thing hair does when you get it wet and it dries? ]

[Hmm, weird! Anything else to note about this? Does it seem like anything else got wet in here?]

[ Nope! The last thing to note is a couple things are off about his clothes. ]

[Just to clarify: it was wet with water, probably not anything else, right?

And sure, what's going on with Jasper's clothes? Does he have anything in his pockets??]

[ Yup! No sign of any other liquids.

Nothing in his pockets, but also missing? His pendant. ]

...unfortunately, Yeager knew nothing about that so uh. I will be sure to note it in my top level and hopefully someone else can point that out so he can confirm it! Or I can just backtag Ran to get that information out there, either/or!!

[ His cloak is a little torn up! That's all the evidence here! ]

[Presumably he can't determine any more than that given the area clear message, but I'll go ahead and double check anyway - is there any indication of how or what tore his cloak up? It it only a small piece missing or is it a lot more than that?]
