There's always a lighthouse
[ Blinking, bruised, but not defeated, you all stumble forward into the light. It's a quicker and easier trek downhill to the beach than it was up to the lighthouse by far - especially, perhaps, for those of you eager to see your previously fallen fellow passengers.
LeChuck comes with you, of course - not that he has much other choice, struck low by the Ultimate Insult as he is - and already on the beach or upon the ship they sailed from hell itself are the dead, ghostly but present. You can touch them, there's just a weird glow and you can kind of see their skeletons?
Jones, for his part, stands on the deck of the Dutchman, a plank lowered by his crew to the sand below for anyone who wants to speak with him. There will come a time to decide what to do next, but for now... focus on reuniting and figuring out what happens to that mean ol' LeChuck now.
Welcome to your Golden End. ]
(ooc: Congratulations, everyone! Feel free to mingle here to your hearts' content - tomorrow afternoon or evening, your ride home will be resolved, and that'll lead to an optional mingle with any Round 1 characters who wish to join and commiserate about the experience!)

Sylvando utters a scandalized gasp.]
Hey now! Johnny darling has that ruggedly handsome look, and he looks marvelous for his age! At least use Jack as an example!
no subject
[Constantine died and gave him a feeling and it was super rude. :< ]
...Actually, speaking of Jack, what happened to him?
[Did... did he show up with you guys......????]
no subject
You know, that's absolutely fair. He probably put you all through quite the show, didn't he?
[Even he was utterly alarmed at the time, and he was already in the Locker! At least everything worked out in the end.
As for Jack...Sylvando's expression hardens in annoyance- an expression reserved for few, but Jack is definitely worthy.]
Oh, he's bound up somewhere. He weaseled his way onto this side with us, but he's definitely going to be paying for what he did.
no subject
[Jack probably cannot die again, but can he suffer at the bottom of the ocean??? Hopefully!!]
no subject
[Jack's going to nightmare hell. It's what he deserves.]
no subject
[WOW]

I see you already had a good idea of what she'd plan! But...yes, I suppose that's what she'll do.
[He's admittedly still trying to wrap his head around the fact that Freyja is capable of such a punishment. He's too Protagonist for this.]
no subject
We occasionally discussed her realm and Triandra's specific brand of nightmares, so that sounds entertaining!
[...]
How have you been doing, Sylvando? It's been awhile, ja?
[It feels like it's been an eternity and no time at all. Funny how distorted your sense of time gets in games like this.]
no subject
It really has. And well, I've been as well as I could be, being stranded in an unending desert with no sense of time. Not much to do except spend a lot of your time with your thoughts and...whoever happens to join you, you know?
[He probably doesn't need to say how rough that was, seeing so many people join the ranks of the dead.]
This last week, though? It was amazing. After Johnny darling and Jasper darling joined us, Davy darling's parting gift gave us just the push we needed to finally get out of there. The rest is history!
[He definitely wants to regale Yeager the full story of the siege that went down during the lighthouse trial, but they've got plenty of time for that.]
I really did miss you, honey, and I'm sure it only got harder and harder as the weeks went on, but...I'm glad you never joined us over there. A reunion like this? It's so much better.
no subject
[Even more boring than the boat, and Yeager spent a lot of time on the boat being bored. Just waiting to see who else would end up there... What an awful existence.]
I... well, I won't say it was easy. There were quite a few times I wondered if we'd make it out of here at all.
[Today included. Perhaps especially today.]
But I figured that even if I couldn't believe in it, I could at least convince everyone else I did. I certainly can't do what you can, Sylvando, but if even one person acts confident enough, the others can follow along easily enough.
[And sometimes that's what you need more than a plan or good luck - you just need to act like you know what you're doing.]
I'm pleased I could keep their spirits up for long enough to get through this trial.
no subject
Oh honey...it means the world to me that you did your best regardless. I'm glad that you never truly gave in to what those awful men threw at you, and that you could keep pressing on. What's more, you helped everyone else do the same! And at the end of that long road, here we are reunited!
It was more than worth it, wouldn't you agree?
no subject
[There's a long pause while he glances out at the others and takes a moment just to let it really sink in - that all of this never could have happened if he'd had another five minutes in his own world. Somehow, there's something more chilling about that thought than anything that happened on the boat.]
It was a dreadful time, but it was more than worth it. We've come a long way, ja?
[He has, anyway.]
no subject
[Yes, even Alice and Magica... Sylvando has never been good at holding onto hard feelings. They weigh him down too much!]
no subject
[It's a relief for it to be over and done with after so damn long.]
What are your plans from here, Sylvando?
no subject
[Judging from his expression as he talks about it though, he's definitely worried sick as well. He really wouldn't want to have caused them so much distress.]
From there, it's business as usual I suppose! As the famous saying goes: "The show must go on!"
[The murdercruise and subsequent Locker experience might take a bit more to bounce back from, but he'll be relying on his resilience to get through it.]
And you, honey? Looking forward to seeing your girls again? [With a wink, he leans in to playfully whisper:] You're gonna bring them to visit Erdrea sometime, right?
no subject
[Hopefully so, because it's a little unnerving...
But anyway! He listens to Sylvando, nodding his head at that.]
I'm sure they'll be very happy to see you returned safe and sound! [Assuming the skellyjelly is a thing we can take care of, anyway!!] But it sounds like you've missed them a lot as well, ja?
[But really, who wouldn't miss the important people back home? Yeager inclines his head a bit at the question once it's turned around on him, considering.]
Truthfully, I don't know exactly what Terca Lumireis will be like when I return. We were at a bit of a critical point. I intend to check on my daughters and my guild, but exactly what I'll do from there depends on how things went. I would prefer not to leave Terca Lumireis for too long... but if my employer was successful, picking a fight with him would be a bit difficult...
[It's not entirely out of the question given he's running the assassins' guild, but Alexei also knows he runs the assassins' guild. So there's no telling how that would go, and he'd prefer to avoid risking his life like that right now.]
Well, only one way to find out! I certainly would like to see Erdrea at some point, though; so if it's possible, I'll be sure to take you up on that offer!
no subject
[But he just has to hold out for a little while longer...hopefully.
Yeager's answer takes him by surprise. They've chatted about Terca Lumireis a bit, but Sylvando had no idea something was amiss there. Concern begins to grow in his expression.]
A critical point? Is everything going to be all right...?
[If anyone understands their world being at "a critical point", it's Sylvando. Yeager's not looking at a Mordegon situation, is he...?]
no subject
[...okay in his defense, he didn't expect the giant space sea cucumber!!!! no one told him that was a possibility!!!!]
Before I arrived here, I was... persuaded to work for the Commandant of the Imperial Knights, Alexei Dinoia. He set about doing all sorts of things to raise Zaude from the depths of the ocean - it's an ancient weapon, and one he planned to use to seize control of the world. I was taken from right before I was to fight off the little do-gooders who arrived to put a stop to him.
[so basically he was the jasper in this situation!!! except more unwilling.]
It depends on what happened in the battle that followed, really. If Yuri Lowell and friends were able to put a stop to Alexei's schemes, then great! Nothing much should have changed when I return. But if they weren't and Alexei was successful... Well, things certainly won't be looking great back home.
[Not world-endingly bad because Alexei has no plans on destroying the world - as far as Yeager knows, anyway?? he lives in Terca Lumireis so hopefully he doesn't want to destroy it?? - but definitely not a good situation to be looking at.]
If he's still alive and in control, I don't plan to continue working for him. I only did so because I felt I had no other options.
[And now... Well, now he's got at least one other option. If he's learned one thing from his time here, it's that you fight until the bitter end, and surely he can insult Alexei enough along the way for dumb luck to see him through.]
no subject
And speaking of unexpected things: discovering that Yeager was working for the (essentially) Mordegon of Terca Lumireis. It really does feel eerily similar to what he went through back home. Was Yuri Lowell's group the Luminary's group in this situation...? Ahhh, he really doesn't like this, and it's pretty evident from the look of hurt on his face as Yeager explains.
It doesn't sound like Yeager was a willing participant here though, and that is a silver lining. However, that just comes with a whole new set of concerns.]
Oh, honey... [His voice is full of concern.] I'm so sorry. This must have been in the back of your mind the entire time... He wasn't forcing your hand by threatening your girls, was he? If he still draws breath, I might have to go over there and give him a piece of my mind myself!
[Move aside Brave Vesperia???]
no subject
He did, ja. He threatened them and the orphanage they came from; I've been funding it for quite some time now.
[500k gald is not an easy sum of money to come by either!!!! crime really does pay well in terca lumireis.]
I won't pretend to understand why he felt like this was necessary, but I don't really care either. If he's in charge, I have no doubts that there will be plenty of problems to deal with. But just in case you may want to wait awhile before paying a visit!
[While he has no doubts Sylvando will do exactly that, let's not drag poor Sylvando into whatever nonsense is happening back home...]
1/2
What a despicable man... He's no better than Jack! And he calls himself a knight?! He's an utter disgrace to those of us who have vowed to uphold chivalry!
no subject
I'm sorry, honey. It's just so... It boils my blood to know that a so-called knight would do that to you.
Are you really sure you and the girls will be okay if he's still around? If we can keep in contact somehow, you'll let me know how things are going, won't you...?
[He's not going to stop worrying otherwise!!]
no subject
It's more or less what I've come to expect of the knights in Terca Lumireis by now.
[It's not like there were many knights like Casey to begin with, and certainly not anymore. Flynn's probably the closest they've got, and that boy has his work cut out for him. Also note to self, do not ever mention Cumore around Sylvando...]
We'll be just fine. I was in that position to begin with because I thought it would be easiest. I was... too tired to fight back, I think. But if I can handle all this nonsense, I don't think Alexei stands much of a chance.
[More accurately, he's going to get an idea of the situation and figure out how to proceed from there in a way that won't get him killed or rely on dumb luck, but hey, confidence is key!]
I do hope there is a way for us to keep in contact, though; I wouldn't want to worry you!
no subject
Yeager's confidence about the situation is definitely helpful in assuaging Sylvando's concern to a degree. After all, he does bring up a really good point about making it through Jack and LeChuck's wild ride.
He nods, his smile returning.]
When you put it that way, how can I not believe you? I look forward to hearing your updates if we are able to keep in touch... Though I really do hope we can too. I don't want this to be goodbye.
[Parting ways with the people he's grown so close to here would be way too sad.]
no subject
Anyway, Yeager nods at that. It's been a long, tough time here, but he's learned a lot and certainly changed his mind on a few things. Regardless of how things go, he's been determined to head back to Terca Lumireis for quite some time. He's as at peace as he can be with the idea of never seeing any of these people again, but... Well, he'd be lying if he said he was totally prepared for it.]
Neither do I. While I won't pretend I want to keep in touch with everyone here, I certainly am going to miss quite a few of you. It'll be strange to be around other people again!
