Week 1
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
There may not be much light to differentiate the days here, but the lights of the part of the city you're in change enough by the clock that you can almost believe there's a sun somewhere. It looks like Mayor Fontaine has no intention of going back on his deal, and for the time being? You're all stuck here. But there's plenty to do, and... maybe not plenty to see, but there's enough. There's something, at any rate.
Especially if you're willing to look beyond the surface.
And if you spend enough time around others, you might find something neat!
No matter what, it's time to start getting to know your fellow captives. You might be here a while.

MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
FRIDAY | SATURDAY

Ah! Adaman doesn't startle, but he does chuckle a bit at the apology, raising a hand in greeting.]
Peace, friend. You aren't an interruption at all! [Adaman doesn't move to get up from the ground, but he does grin from his position.] Is there something I can help you with?
no subject
[Though now that he's here... he's probably not going to find anything of value, both because he does not have a top level for investigating and because Rossiu spends 98% of his time indoors and doesn't know the first thing to look for in a garden.]
Though... if you don't mind my asking, who is this Sinnoh you were praying to?
no subject
...for two reasons, given that Adaman's eyes light right the fuck up because you asked about our lord and savior Sinnoh--]
Ah! Another who does not know of Almighty Sinnoh--though, I suppose I should not be surprised. [Adaman gestures to the air a bit when he talks, animated as ever.] Almighty Sinnoh is the very god that my clan worships, and the almighty ruler of time itself! It is through almighty Sinnoh that our clan and others have been allowed to flourish--by making use of the time that we've been given, and using it to the fullest to live by Almighty Sinnoh's example.
no subject
The ruler of time itself... How fascinating. I can understand how important that is; making the most of the time you're given is a good way to look at it, I think.
no subject
Yes, exactly! And we endeavor to live every day to honor Almighty Sinnoh's gift to all of us; it is the very fabric of our beliefs. That time wasted is lost to us, and we must push ever forward.
[...]
It is why I hope that Almighty Sinnoh hears us, even now, in a place like this. This mayor is making us waste our time down here, but more importantly, it means we are losing time with those we care for, and those we watch over.
...I want us all to make it out of here safely, and it is my hope that we are able to do so, and soon.
no subject
[Though he's hardly religious, it's a good belief and prayer like that... well, it certainly isn't hurting anyone. Here, at least, he can't speak to it back in Adaman's world - but he would like to believe that it isn't a tool used to control them.]
I agree, of course. There's much I have to get back to, and I imagine everyone here feels the same way. I'm sure we'll find a way out if we work together.
[But those words sound a little more hollow than they did at the start of all of this...]
no subject
Yes, of course. So long as we are all in this together...there is nothing that we cannot do.
[...]
You mentioned being in...a difficult situation, at home. If I recall correctly, yes?
Are you worried about it?
[Rossiu's listened to him prattle on a bit, but Adaman has to admit, he's curious about more of Rossiu's situation.]
no subject
In some ways I am. While I do have faith in my... friends, the situation is a dire one, and one that will require someone to step up and take the lead in the days to come. I was prepared to take that position, but in my absence...
[It's not that he doubts Kinon or Guinble, but it isn't a position he'd wish on anyone. He knows one or both of them will step up because it is necessary, but it's a burden that he wishes they didn't have to shoulder.]
no subject
...It is something that would likely have to fall on one of them. I understand; not the same dire situation you face, but...the burden of leadership is not an easy one to bear, and many are not prepared for it. I worry for the Wardens of my own home, if someone has to take up the mantle while I am gone...
[...]
Keep your chin up, though; your friends sound like strong people, if they have been able to support you so, no?
Tell me about them, if you would like. I would be honored to hear about them.
no subject
Yes. No matter what, I do believe they'll pull through.
[It's just a matter of how bad things will be when he makes it back... Still, if he was able to salvage the situation once before, surely someone can do the same now.
His look softens a bit at that and Rossiu nods.]
I was not the first leader of Kamina City, that was Simon. Seven years ago, he was responsible for defeating the Spiral King and freeing us, and since then he's only grown even stronger. He's a truly incredible man - a strong fighter, certainly, but also one who has a clear vision of what he wants and he is incredibly determined to see it through. Things have been... very difficult for him lately, but he's never once wavered.
[That's putting it lightly. And it feels sort of insulting considering Rossiu put him through most of those difficult things, but like. It's fine.]
He's leading a team to handle the larger threat facing our world right now. I've no doubt they'll succeed, entirely because Simon is leading them.
[...That's just one person!! But listen, Simon is very important, okay.]
no subject
Nevertheless, Adaman listens very intently as Rossiu talks about Simon; every bit of it sees Adaman's eyes practically gleam from the tale of the city's first leader. He sounds like the sort of man, the sort of hero Adaman would have wanted to grow up to be like, and--]
What an incredible man indeed! Strong, capable, and willing to take life itself by the horns and guide it in the direction he sees fit! Truly, he sounds like an admirable man, and I am glad that he has managed to overcome any difficulties that life has thrown his way.
I can only imagine that with him at the wheel, the threat against your world stands no chance!
[Adaman sounds so!! Pumped!!]
It sounds like the two or you are quite close--for him to entrust you with such a position like that, you two must have been inseparable as Mai and I!
no subject
I wouldn't say we are that close. We have known each other for awhile, but... we were mostly colleagues.
[He tends to use "friends" to describe all of them, but that... doesn't exactly feel accurate in this case, given. Well. Everything he did to Simon.]
I believe he entrusted me with it because he likewise knew there weren't many who could or would step up in such a situation. It was more a matter of necessity than trust.
no subject
But! Adaman places a hand on his hip, and with his free hand, he just kind of claps Rossiu on the shoulder a bit in a friendly manner.]
Come now, Rossiu, you needn't be so modest! Even if you were colleagues, it takes a certain level of trust to put the fate of people in your hands like that, no?
You shouldn't disparage yourself so, by downplaying such a thing!
no subject
...Yes, I suppose you're right.
[While he certainly does feel extremely guilty about what happened... there isn't any point in denying that much. If Simon truly thought he wasn't up to the task, he wouldn't have left it in Rossiu's hands. So there's some level of trust there, no matter how undeserved.]
My apologies. I've never been very good at accepting praise.
[Though that isn't exactly the problem here... But that's not something he's going to talk about!!! No one should have to deal with all that bullshit.]
