Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[Honestly, it'd be weirder if Forrest did truly see. It's kind of hard to imagine if you haven't been in the thick of it all. Unfortunately, that's starting to look like a more likely scenario though...]

If it's the same deal as my first game, the Mayor'll have us play detective and investigate the area for evidence. Then we'll have to work together to figure out what happened and who did it.

Creative non-fiction, mostly. I've had some stuff printed in magazines and local papers, but nothing major.

I don't... I don't know how useful I would be, doing something like that.

[Rossiu nods at that.]

Neither do I. I sincerely hope that I'm wrong and that we'll all make it through this. That no matter what, we can come together and rise above whatever the Mayor has to throw at us.

[It's what Simon is undoubtedly believing right now. And something about that actually does get him to settle; Rossiu folds his hands behind his back again and this time, he remains steady.]

That may be the most we can do right now, but that belief is very important.

[It's fine you remember the basics!! Motives, killing, trials, voting people out...and ultimately overcoming despair at the end of it all.]

...Yeah, that was 'shima's whole thing. She wanted to show the world how deep its "hope" could sink into despair. Doesn't seem to be Fontaine's goal, but he's doin' a good job of it anyway.

[He sighs and leans his head back against the glass, though not in the same position. His hair just kind of awkwardly squishes to the side in the process.]

Thanks, though. For listening and stuff. I know you asked in the first place, but talking about it was kinda cathartic.

Sure! Once it's done, and once it's had some time to cool. You can have one of the tamagoyaki, though! They shouldn't be too hot anymore.

[ He pokes at the tofu he's added before nodding and turning the heat way down. ]

I gotta...get it to stop boiling, and then add the miso paste...

[ Oh.

For the first time, Hodaka looks at Misfire. ]

You'd do that?

[Isn't it just?!]

It's not for everyone, that's for sure. My group was insanely lucky to have an actual detective in it, and I'm not gonna lie, she carried a lot of those trials.

[Kirigiri and Naegi, the primary sane ones.]

But I wouldn't worry about it too much if a murder does go down. We've got a lotta capable people here too.

I'll do my best to maintain it, then.

[And that does seem genuine; he's been pleasant this entire time, but now there's just a bit of warmth to it.]

I want to continue to do what I can to help. Even if the situation seems dire.

[If the story had ended with hope overcoming despair alone, maybe it would soften the blow somewhat, but no, Hagakure's been shoved into another murdergame. Who could possibly be so cruel as to come up with a horrific idea like that.]

I think it is good to talk about these things, though I understand how difficult it can be to open up about them.

[I mean not that he has ever actually opened up about anything, ever. Listen, it's fine.]

I do think that it's important to remember that we can overcome this. The situation isn't exactly the same as Enoshima's, which means there may be an earlier opportunity for us to find a solution.

[One that doesn't involve nearly all of our number dying, hopefully.]

What if... We can't figure something out, in time...?

Better that than wrongfully blaming yourself.

[He offers him a smile, but his expression quietly turns thoughtful.]

I believe there isn't a rule against bad mouthing our captor, although I do not blame your hesitation. I... had tried avoiding him as much as possible, and only ever communicated with his minion Eleanor.

I asked her to send a letter to my Mina, about how I loved her and how I may likely never see her again.

[He looks back at Mina, who was trying to stand strong but it was clear in her eyes how full of despair she is.]

Eleanor must have known about this when we discussed the letter, and she said she would try to get it sent to her. Now I fear that Mina has gotten the letter and thinks that I have passed on when we are but a sheet of glass away from each other.

[ He opens his mouth to ask, which one, but then he sees him. ]

Ah... You...have a brother?

Of course, and that help will be just as important now.

[If not even moreso! But hopefully no one will get stabbed and require medical treatment.]

[That his more pragmatic and practical approach isn't always the right one. You can hear the soft refrain of row row fight the powah if you listen closely.]

[ Floyd absolutely cracks up laughing. ]

You look like when I just started out walking on legs! Pretty cringe!

[ You know what? He'll join in the silly dance! They're both cringe and free now! ]

[ A brief chuckle. ]

What's your plan after?

[He nods.]

[Jason all but throws himself against the glass, his face pressed against it like he can push through it if he tried hard enough. Oh, the euphoria of seeing his his best friend again versus the sinking weight of reality and Fontaine's threats crashing over him.]

Don't worry, dude, we're gonna bust you and Hatsune Miku and everybody else out!

I suppose...

[I mean, he's going to worry about it if a murder goes down, because a murder just went down, but he imagines he knows what Hagakure meant and there's no point in being pedantic.]

Hopefully it won't be a concern for us, at least not so soon. Though I admit that I am worried about the others.

[ He doesn't bother to ask if he looks like the type given how they came to speak right now. ]

Can he hug you without getting punched in the face or something? Because if he can, he's going to hug you. If not, guess he's getting punched in the face because damn he's going to try anyway.]

[ Now he is giving the other man a look over from head to toe. ]

I hope you don't hate attention in that case.
