Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's now been a week since you were all captured. Perhaps you've already settled in. Perhaps you're already confident that you'll make it out of New Rapture alive. How serious about this could Mayor Fontaine possibly be, really?

While there still may not be much to do in your little hotel bubble, you've at least been granted a little more now - some kind of mysterious room and a sizeable library of all things. And in all the places you've looked so far, you've found valuable information, and even learned some of the story of New Rapture along the way.

Make sure to keep talking to the others! You want to keep those regain coins flowing, don't you?

[ That's his wife, after all. ]

No, I'd rather not let myself fall behind because of this. I know I could, but...

[She shakes her head a little.]

I feel like I have to keep going as I usually would. Or as close as possible.

[withagun]

[ If he were less completely depressed right now, the very concept of the Dinobots would be the coolest thing Hodaka has ever heard. For now, however, he just lets out a soft noise of admiration. ]

He...needs help and you...take care of him?

[ He wants to make sure he's got that right. ]

[withagun]

[ She doesn't, really...but Hodaka's got blinders on, so he scans the isolation room anyway. When he sees a girl with similar features...similar hair especially to Mielle, he gets it.

People will do anything for family. ]

Oh. [ He's...making a lot of people concerned about him, isn't he? Hodaka doesn't know how to feel about that. ] I just... I couldn't leave her here alone. Um, my her. I mean.

[hotpaprika]

[Jonathan hands Dandy the phone, still rubbing at his eyes.]

Might as well. I haven't the faintest idea what the purpose of this contraption is, besides a strange futuristic advice column with some sort of self defense mechanism.

[He's referring to the flashlight.]

[hotpaprika]

Oh! My apologies.

[He places down the phone as he looks at the portrait with Nandor.]

The machine downstairs gave this to me. Quite a peculiar painting, don't you think? Makes me wonder if there is some sort of historical significance to this man.

[He looks at Nandor, with an amused smile on his face.]

I must say he has a striking resemblance to you, Nandor!

[ Oh. Forrest doesn't usually... ]

Forrest-san... [ Hodaka's voice also cracks. But that's a given. ] Sorry. I'm sorry...that you're hurting too.

...Me and my friends, we always hang out online and work on our music together at 1 AM. I can't really do the same here, but... I can at least try a little bit.

[sastruga]

Adaman-san...

[She looks up, a little slowly. Shaking her head after a moment more.]

That's alright. I don't intend to monopolize the space here.

...There are a lot of younger ones in that group. I imagine that to be on purpose.

[Says the seventeen-year-old already in this situation, but that's clearly beside the point.]

[Oh, it's...]

I'll be all right. Midori can take care of herself; I trust that she'll be able to work something out until we're reunited. I just don't like that she's here to begin with.

[giddyundertaker]

Hm? And what may these conditions be, Mister Alien Robot?

[inaclearing]

I'm okay.

[A rote answer. It comes too quickly to be much else.]

I mean...Peregrine's very capable. She'll be okay.

[In that room? If they do all get sent off to their own murder hotel? Unclear!]

[hotpaprika]

I don't quite see what's so funny about any of this...

[He gives The Undertaker a sad look as he rubs at his eyes, looking somewhat hurt.]

...yeah.

[He says it like an admission.]

I think that's a part of it. If it were Luca...he wouldn't expect me to hurt an innocent person to save him. I wouldn't expect it of him, either. But Peregrine...

[.....]

I don't mean to say she would want me to do that. She wouldn't. But I feel responsible. I...haven't always done everything I could have for her, in the past.

[giddyundertaker]

Perhaps he didn't. He could have just gone through random worlds and plucked us out with little rhyme or reason. From there, he could have done his research to fill out the profiles, then come back to where we came from when he needed better motives for us.

... Just an educated guess.

[hotpaprika]

[Jonathan doesn't say anything, but shows Hagakure the funko pop of Mina.

Hopefully Hagakure recognizes the hair/outfit because otherwise it probably looks like Jonathan has lost it.]

...I think there's a lot of stuff out there that we don't entirely understand. People think we know everything, these days, but we don't. It's probably not possible.

[giddyundertaker]

Ah, forgive me. Force of habit.

[ Is he really sorry? Who knows.

He places his hand on Jonathan's- The one he's holding the phone with- With the intent on setting that phone on the table flashlight-side-down. ]

Though you really ought to know better than to shine strange lights in your eyes. That's how people go blind, you see.

I've got no idea what you're blatherin' on about.

[WHAT-]

So you're hearing voices now? I know your thinkin' cap isn't exactly screwed on all the way, but this is wack! Even for you!

[Cue a disgruntled sigh.]

You've heard of candles, right?

[He waves at Hodaka, looking a little embarrassed.]

Ah, yes, yes I'm fine. [Technically a lie, but he didn't want to drown Hodaka in his sorrows about Mina.] I was simply trying to decipher what this item is. Quite peculiar, isn't it?

[He shows Hodaka the smart phone.]

[ The slightest trace of a smile curls onto Hodaka's lips, but only for a moment. ]

Yeah... Yeah, there are...good people in there. People who will take care of her. [ But...in this kind of environment? Hodaka repeats it, but he doesn't sound very confident. ] I...need to get him some food more than anything, but...

[ His gaze returns to her. Every moment he's not looking at her, he's afraid. He's terrified. She'll be gone, and not a soul will care. ]

[ It's definitely not impossible that this is blood. ]

[ Of course. Of course it's not an option. ]

We will... [ But what?

The heavy atmosphere's suffocating. Hodaka can't find anything else to say either. ]
