FIRST INVESTIGATION

To say this week has been intense is, generally, an understatement. Friday dawns like any other day. Some of you may have guessed that something like this would happen. It's not a difficult assumption to make, considering what's at stake. Mayor Fontaine has come forward with clear intent, and maybe expecting twenty-five people to stay strong against it is too much. Or maybe not! You never know!

...For those of you not entirely convinced, however, those visible traces of blood in the elevator might speak differently.

ADAMAN'S ROOM

[Right. So we need to gather evidence. And surely Adaman left something behind that will be important, right? This is also away from the... corpse and the blood and everything else and Rossiu just needs a moment, alright. So. Is the door unlocked? Anything to notice about it from out here?]

[ Unfortunately, the door is locked as hell. Might need to get that fixed before investigating here. ]

[Alright, he's back after retrieving Adaman's room key! Time to see what's going on in here. Assuming there's nothing off about unlocking the door, how are things looking in here?]

[ The door unlocks fine enough. And inside...

It looks like a damn tornado went through. The place is a mess, everything sort of strewn about...and something moving under the covers. ]

[Oh dear. This had better be Leafeon, because if it isn't then he doesn't know how to handle that!!!

Anyway, Rossiu will approach carefully - he's not going to touch the thing beneath the covers, but he will speak up first.]

Leafeon? Is that you?

[And then he'll move to free said thing from the covers. Carefully, of course!!]

[ Praise the Almighty Sinnoh! It is indeed one very frazzled Leafeon! It looks like he was pacing and just...generally fretting? You've got an incredibly worried Pokémon on your hands, Rossiu. ]

[Okay, at least that's more or less what he expected. The wreckage in the room is probably Leafeon's doing as well, intentional or otherwise. But he's going to take a moment to sit down and try to explain the situation to Leafeon, which is absolutely going to suck.

For the sake of brevity and so the mods do not have to NPC a Pokémon during an investigation, Rossiu takes the time to explain that poor Adaman is dead and that they're looking into his murder. He explains this like he's talking to a person because he's still not exactly sure how sapient Leafeon is and he doesn't want to insult Leafeon, but listen, he's trying. He's likewise trying to be gentle about breaking the news but uh. He's Rossiu. He's not great at this.

He's also going to ask if Leafeon will be alright staying in here or at the very least in Suite 4, but he knows that Leafeon does whatever he wants and Rossiu is not exactly equipped to try to stop a Pokémon if he wants to rush off to find his trainer's body. It would. Probably be good for Leafeon to not see that though?? Please stay here, Leafeon.......

Assuming he can get Leafeon to sit enough for him to continue the room investigation... Anything else that stands out immediately aside from the mess?]

[ Bless you, Redd, let's see here.

Leafeon is, understandably, gutted. He understands pretty quick, as if that's what he was worried about. However he pulls himself together pretty quickly, still devastated but very resolved. Leafeon seems to...want to help, actually? He will stay put if need be but he is absolutely going to look determined into Rossiu's eyes and mime...something at the mention of Adaman.

There is, in fact, nothing else pertinent to the case, though Rossiu can find some papers that will be used to hurt everyone in the aftermath, naturally. ]

[Huh. Well, if Leafeon is determined to help, then he can come along! Are Pokémon allowed in the trial room... I guess we'll find out!!!

Anyway, he will absolutely take those papers for later, I am prepared for Sable to emotionally wreck us all!! He'll distribute those after the trial since they aren't in bold and therefore contain no relevant trial info.

Just to double check, though; the mess in here does seem to be caused by one (1) distressed Pokémon and not something that was the result of a fight or anything?]

[Good to know! Assuming Leafeon is our #1 piece of evidence, there's still something left in here, so... Aside from the notes meant to hurt us later, is there anything noteworthy (pun very much intended) on or in the desk that might be useful?]

[ There is not! And in fact, unless you wanna do a little optional Leafinterrogation that is all there is to find here! Apologies, the clear comment didn't go through for some reason. ]

[No worries!! But while he's here, he may as well ask Leafeon some questions, so!!]

Leafeon, did Adaman leave suddenly last night? It seems odd that he would lock you in there.

Was he going to visit the others in the meeting room?

[ Leafeon shakes his head and then holds up a paw; a moment, he has to think about how to convey this.

He jumps off the bed and moves his ears back, in a kind of... An attempt is being made at a ponytail? Leafeon is trying his utter best at a ponytail. Then he starts pacing, back and forth, slow and methodical, dutiful. ]

[It takes him a moment, but...]

Oh! Adaman was very worried last night, is that what you're saying? He was... pacing back and forth, likely considering something before he left.

[Is that about right?]

[ Leafeon nods but then raises another paw. Mostly, but there's something else to it. He gestures to the door, and then starts pacing again. Actually- if allowed, he'll do his pacing out through the door, still with the Adaman ponytail. ]

[Of course, he'll follow along! Leafeon understands the gravity of the situation, so he probably won't go sprinting off anywhere.]

He still seemed troubled when he left?

[ Another nod, though now, in a larger space, Leafeon starts going in a circle. He pauses every so often, to look over something invisible, and then keeps going. ]

Was he waiting for something? Or... working on a plan of some sort?

[Ohhh, he really hopes this was not "Adaman plans a murder while Leafeon watches, unaware" but...]

[ Leafeon shakes his head. He pauses and then sits at attention, chin raised.

It's a leaderly pose. Rossiu especially should recognize that much. ]

[Of course he recognizes it, that's his default pose!!]

Oh, he was thinking of his subordinates - he was worried what would happen to them?

[ Leafeon raises a paw to point, at Rossiu himself and then the other doors around the suite—and out into the other suites. ]

Not just his subordinates, but everyone here. That's certainly understandable.

[He's quiet for a moment, considering.]

Was he going out to check on us or... to make sure no one was out so late?
