FIRST INVESTIGATION

To say this week has been intense is, generally, an understatement. Friday dawns like any other day. Some of you may have guessed that something like this would happen. It's not a difficult assumption to make, considering what's at stake. Mayor Fontaine has come forward with clear intent, and maybe expecting twenty-five people to stay strong against it is too much. Or maybe not! You never know!

...For those of you not entirely convinced, however, those visible traces of blood in the elevator might speak differently.

[Adaman. This is pretty unfortunate.

Well, it's necessary to do her job now. Aiba appears on the other side of the body]

Allow me to assist you. I'm an investigation assistant -- I will inform you if I see anything noteworthy you should be informed about.

[There's a lot a small thing like her can't do, so while she stays sitting on the edge of the nearest planter to the body, she takes advantage of the many functions built in her, all thanks to ~~her game being a point and click when investigating crime scenes~~ her creators' foresight.

Zoom in. Forrest is checking the head, Aiba examines the rest of the body. Blood probably may have washed off any other injuries, but things like ripped clothing or holes or the wounds themselves if they're in the open don't wash off with water. She should be able to find them]

[He's able to smile a bit at that, though it's not as bright as it usually is.]

[ Interesting! Speaking of washed-off blood, though, there's a curious little stain of faded blood on the sleeve of his haori! ]

Blood on the sleeve. Faded, possibly because of the water. Determining location...

[Aiba pictures the sleeve in her memory. Thank goodness for good spatial abilities. Where's the blood on the sleeve? Near the hand? Near the elbow, maybe? On the back of the forearm?]

[Doesn't matter if the blood keeps getting washed away, she memorized it, she decides. No need to move the body away to preserve that bloodstain.

Speaking of objects in the pockets! Hearing Rossiu's question, Aiba searches for pockets, using X-ray. She routinely uses such a thing to check into all kinds of surfaces and find objects away from sight -- one time she looked through bedsheets to see a kitchen knife, hah. Let's see what Adaman is carrying with him, if anything!]

[ Doesn't look like he has a bunch of his possessions on him right now. Nothing of note, anyway! ]

Nothing of interest among his belongings. [If any.

Alright, let's continue. Looks like there's a bite over there! Forrest is dealing with it. Are there any other injuries on the body? Anything on his shoes, maybe? Anything he may have accidentally taken with him from other areas? That this is in water makes things more difficult, but it's all stuff worth checking, she figures]

[ Well Aiba, since you're already down by his hands, let's start there! Adaman's knuckles are pretty bruised up. ]

[Oho, interesting! Let's zoom riiiiight onto these hands, and check them further. Bruises in the knuckles...hm, perhaps...

...anything in the fingernails? Blood, skin, anything?]

[ Nope! No residue under his fingernails, unfortunately. ]

[Aiba talks to Forrest:]

Possible indication of Adaman striking solid objects with one of his fists. It may have been the attacker, or perhaps something solid enough to leave bruises in his knuckles. No sign of him causing bleeding wounds with his hands.

[She really goes straight to the point, like she's passing this information to the detective instead of gathering it all for herself. Perhaps she should be taking charge, as the one who has seen so many crimes and plenty of murders, but she doesn't leave her role of assistant.

The other hand doesn't have such bruises, correct?]

[ Just the one, opposite of the lovely bite mark Forrest found. ]

[Opposite arm from the bite mark, alright. Noting that down.

Anything else to be found in this corpse examination? There are a couple things she would like to figure out herself for clarification's sake, but they probably can wait until after the clues have been found]

[ General bruising mostly. Nothing too big, like his already noted wounds, but a little on his upper torso and arms.

And... Well, something about the body placement that should be noted. ]

[Oho! Alright, what's up with the body placement?]

[ When Forrest found him, Adaman was face-down in the water. Interestingly, he wasn't far out in the pond. In fact, his shoes are on dry land.

By all appearances, he just kind of fell. In addition, there's no signs of struggle by the edge of the pond. No bruising on the back of his neck or shoulders. Nothing to indicate he was held down. ]

[Oh, that's indeed interesting. Hm! Definitely remembering that.

Alright, time for a few things, for clarification. Maybe during the trial information about this will be revealed, maybe it won't...but Aiba does it anyway. Turning on her thermograph, she checks Adaman...

...to try to determine the time of death. Would it be possible to get an estimate of how long ago he died?]

[ Clever, Aiba!

You can't get an exact time. But you can determine he died somewhere around 2 to 3 AM. ]

[Alright, the estimate is fine, yup. Two to three in the morning...alright.]

Adaman died in the early hours in the morning. It's unlikely there were witnesses.

[Not impossible, but it's unlikely.

The other thing...Aiba focuses on the bite mark on Adaman's arm, analyzing it, and then looks at Adaman's head]

This feels like an invasion of privacy when it's on someone you talked with.

[She says that because she turns on her X-ray, to look at his skull -- at his teeth.

It's unlikely she will get a match to anyone specific in the group, and that includes Adaman himself. But it's always worth a try and see if she can determine if he bit himself or not. Is that possible? Or is it an inconclusive result?]

[ Inconclusive. What she can determine is this bite came from a human mouth, not an animal. ]

[Well! Good to know Leafeon has been cleared completely from any wrongdoing. Cheeeeeers!

Hah, but yeah, this was all. Time to waddle away and check all areas without clues just to say there was nothing in them. Thanks for the info!]

[Rossiu was really hoping to avoid having to deal with Adaman's body, but uh. Well his investigation requires a key and he can only think of one place to look right now so uh. Hi, body crew!!]

Have you... found his room key? I thought it would be good to look through it.

[And maybe see if poor Leafeon is shut in there...]

[Aiba's human projection turns to Rossiu, the real hamster self having searched the body for objects on Adaman]

The key is not in his possession right now.
