Funeral Service for Adaman and Hodaka Morishima
[ An hour or two after the first trial's end, Hild and the Undertaker set out to invite as many people as possible to the Restaurant for the funerals of our dearly departed friends.
Why the restaurant of all places? Because there aren't enough chairs and tables elsewhere.
Indeed, some of the tables have been moved against the wall to make room for the seats. The chairs have been set up in four rows of six, like an improvised theater or a church. To the side, a small buffet has been set up courtesy of Obi, Mafuyu, and Hild. As for the main event? Two tables have been set up and decorated in black fabric and white flowers. In lieu of a live viewing, two drawings referenced from the profiles have been set up in the center of funeral wreaths... They're not the best, due to the artist's handicaps, but it does look like Adaman and Hodaka at least.]

Adaman’s room
He hears the prayer to Sinnoh before he clears his throat so he’s not eavesdropping any further.]
Hey, Ross? D’you…mind if I join you in that?
no subject
Oh... Of course I don't mind. I'm... not very practiced and I'm not entirely sure the proper way to pray to Almighty Sinnoh, but...
[He trails off there, then shakes his head and moves over so Hagakure has enough room to join him.]
no subject
S-Sorry, man, I didn’t mean to startle you.
[With Rossiu’s permission though, he enters. Leafeon gets some comforting pets before he goes to join Rossiu in prayer, but he does promise Leafeon he’ll have more in a minute.
Once he’s next to Rossiu…]
I can help, if you’d like. I don’t follow any one particular god, but I do pray to many on the regular. I think they just like hearing from us in general, and even though I don’t know Almighty Sinnoh that well, Pokemon are like, super compassionate. It probably can’t be much different.
no subject
Yes, that's what I think. Adaman surely wouldn't have been this devoted if they didn't have a good reason for it.
[He takes a moment to breathe before glancing back over.]
I would appreciate the assistance, though.
no subject
[Hagakure also lets out a breath before closing his eyes and clasping his hands in prayer.]
Almighty Sinnoh…’sup.
[We’re off to a great start.]
This is Hagakure and Rossiu. We’re, uh, not from your world, but we hope this prayer reaches you anyway, because we met a really cool follower of yours—Adaman—and we want to make sure he gets back to you safely. It’s…not the way anyone would’ve wanted, but he needs you now more than ever. And though you don’t know any of us, could you just keep an eye out for Leafeon at least? We’re gonna do our best to take care of him until he can see Adaman again, whenever that is.
[He looks over to Rossiu now that he’s given a Hagakure brand prayer example. They can say their pieces before wrapping it up.]
no subject
Anyway, with Hagakure's words out there, Rossiu hesitates for a moment before adding his piece.]
Thank you for looking out for Adaman. May You guide him safely back to Your world. We all hope that he is able to find peace with You now that his time has come to an end. Please watch out for Leafeon as well; we all want to keep him safe.
And finally... please keep watch over Adaman's friends and loved ones where he cannot. I hope that You can guide Mai and the rest of the Diamond Clan in the days to come. Thank you for listening.
[At least, he hopes Almighty Sinnoh was listening.]
no subject
[He bows deeply, and…things get a bit more personal.]
And Ada-my man, if you can hear this…thanks for looking out for us. Mai and all the other hostages are safe now— I know you’d wanna know that. I just wish we could be celebrating together instead of grieving.
You were a cool dude and we’ll never forget this. That’s a promise.
no subject
[His hands are shaking, but his voice remains steady.]
no subject
You did really good, Ross.
no subject
...Thank you. My own relationship with religion is... complicated, to say the least. But I felt this was the best way to remember and honor Adaman.
no subject
[The weight of today hasn’t quite lifted off of his shoulders, but he does feel like this helped, if only a little.
Still…]
Are you gonna be okay? This isn’t really…something I can give advice on, obviously. None of us ever knew how to deal with the night after a trial…
no subject
[That question, though... Rossiu's gaze drifts back out to the ocean and he's silent for a moment before nodding.]
I can only imagine how difficult it was for all of you.
[When he looks back, he seems to have settled, finding some of his usual composure.]
I truly am sorry that you're forced to experience all of this again. Thank you, for both your help today during the trial and... for this. It wasn't my intention to worry you.
[He'll be fine, because that's his job. There isn't any other option but to pick himself up and keep going.]
