Week 3

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to the second week of Unknown Seas Round 3! Please make sure to mark any investigation toplevels accordingly, post your ac, and you can reach either Mayor Fontaine or Eleanor for conversations! ]

...you think they took away Saturday so we couldn't crawl through the elevator shaft on it?

[Should we try the elevator shaft on a Tuesday, then?]
howveryglib: gaius with a hand up to his chin, thinking deep thoughts (yeah... tacos sound great for dinner.)

Or... something like that. I was told that other areas are likely still underwater, so perhaps it is a safety concern.

..."safety" concern.

Wouldn't they be underwater today, too? Or any other day?

[God, does he want to climb into the elevator shaft now?]
howveryglib: he's lookin' maybe a little bored. maybe. (i'd rather be driving a mech honestly)

…I meant that I believe they are flooded. That is the impression I got from Eleanor, at the very least.

Perhaps I will have to look around on Friday night, barring anything more pressing.

I don't...know if that's a good idea.

[On one hand - it's only happened once. On the other - it worked. Why wouldn't he try some sort of threat with a deadline again?]

At least take someone with you, if you do.
howveryglib: gaius looking sad he doesn't have a better writer (man remember how good 5.3 was...)

When the time comes, I will ask around about it. I am not particularly easy to kill, though.

I wouldn't think so. But there's a lot of people like that here.

[Fighters, he means. Brett's so far away from that world that it's probably difficult for him to gauge the exact match-ups here - who might be able to beat who in a fight. But he can't think that anyone is far and away impossible for anyone else to kill, except perhaps Misfire.]

If someone wanted to do something, I'm sure they'd try to target the noncombatants first. It just seems like the easiest thing to do. But you never know.
howveryglib: linefacing at SOMETHING. (hm. that sure is a potential war crime.)

[personal profile] howveryglib 2022-06-30 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
…you are right. I should not underestimate the others here.

[that’s how you end up flat on your back for enterprising wols to /showleft, /showright, and do squats over in gpose.]

Perhaps I will ask Obi, then.

[Brett nods.]

You never know. It just takes one...one thing, you know.

Yes, I understand. Even with all precautions taken, it simply takes one thing going wrong…
