Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

What are you studying?

[sastruga]

Literature, science, social studies, mathematics... I'm trying to stick to the same subjects I would be taking in school right now.

[inaclearing]

You're really dedicated. What kind of literature have they got you reading?

[Brett, notably not Japanese, figures he's probably never heard of anything they've got in their curriculums over there, but vOv]

Mm, well, I usually have to read some classic novels. Some English ones, too... I've tried to read ahead in those back home to improve my grasp on the language.

Currently, though, I'm reading Listen to the Voices of the Sea.

[inaclearing]

Ah - yeah, our schools don't focus that much on languages.

[Which is silly, but. Well, Brett's focus in high school was really not that much on academia anyway.]

I don't know that one. What's it about?

Ah, well, this one isn't really a novel. It's a collection of letters from young Japanese soldiers during World War II.

[You know.

Some fun light reading during ocean murder hell.]

It's more important reading than fun, to put it lightly.

You know, there's nothing wrong with reading something just for fun while you're here. I don't think anyone could fault you for not keeping up with the standard curriculum while you were kidnapped. They probably wouldn't expect you to go straight back to school anyway, right?

[That's a simple question to answer and a very normal one to ask! And yet, for some reason, Mafuyu looks akin to a deer caught in a particularly bright set of headlights.]

Oh... S-Sure. [She quickly takes the out offered.] What sort of things do you like to read?

I like creative non-fiction...and historical fiction, maybe you'd like something like that?
