Week 3
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.
It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.
There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[That's...a hint of amusement?? They're making progress!]
I gotta hand it to you guys, you knock it out of the park in the arts & crafts department. I've just discovered pom-poms. They're amazing. Especially the ones with shiny bits.
[He's going to be running out with a fistful of those and some pipecleaners, no doubt. Who knows what for, though.]
What've you got there?
[He makes his way over to Roissu, and tilts his googly-hand to have a look at the stuff he's got.]
no subject
Oh, just some sketchbooks and pens. I'm not really the artistic type, but I did offer to draw some of our gunmen and grapearl designs for Aiba.
[He's definitely more of a technical design person than a "drawing for fun" person, but at least it's something.]
no subject
Okay, gunmen I can get the jist of - but grapearl?
[Grape??Earl??]
no subject
Grapearls are manmade gunmen; we created them to improve on the designs of Gurren Lagann and mass produce them, though they do have quite a few flaws that will need to be improved going forward.
[...]
Our gunmen - with Gurren Lagann being our most powerful - are a bit like you. They're very large machines that we can pilot, though they are incapable of speech or thought.
[Just in case you have a very different concept of gunmen!!!]
no subject
I see. What, is Aiba looking for a new robot body?
no subject
[...though that would be cool as hell.]
She expressed interest in them and their designs, and I thought drawing them would be easier than attempting to describe them.
no subject
[Said lightly; he's clearly joking.]
It's not a bad design concept, we are very good at destroying things, generally.
[This sentence still delivered with the mouth hand on full display.]
no subject
I have no doubts about that. Though I would assume that some of your usual abilities have been sealed off here?
no subject
Oh yeah. My ability to be my actual size, for starters. When you're taller than human buildings, it's pretty easy to smash 'em up.
[Probably not the best thing to admit to having done, but what is Misfire if not humble.]
Also my alt-mode, which for others is pretty conducive to destruction, but me? Eh. I'm better off with a big gun that goes pew.
no subject
I suppose I can understand the appeal of a big gun.
[one of the gunmen has a giant gun mounted on it so like. yeah.]
What is your alt-mode like?
no subject
[This is the ONE universal constant.]
I'll give you two hints, judging by the fact you don't live in the technological dark ages like some of our fellow captives. One: my name used to be Flyhigh. Two: these bad boys.
[He points to the wings on his back. Then, after letting it hang for a second-]
...You know what? We don't need to make this a quiz. It's a plane.
no subject
Ah, really? That's fascinating. I can see where it might not be as efficient for destruction as some others, but having the ability to fly is certainly incredible.
no subject
[You'd think he'd traverse the skies or something, but nah. He just likes to skip out on walking.]
'Course, when you're one of two in your squad with a flight capable alt-mode, you end up having to give the rest of 'em lifts. And even sharing the load, they're heavy.
[This is how the burden of being the friend that can drive is experienced in a species that can turn into literal cars.]
no subject
I can see where that might be somewhat annoying. It's good that you don't have to handle it alone, though.
no subject
[And that’s all you need! His attention starts wandering to the other bits around the store, and his physical self follows.]
…Remember the ‘fun’ thing we were talking about? I think you should try and incorporate it into showing your designs to Aiba. Think of it as a first project.
[He holds up some pipe cleaner, and a pot of plasticine. It looks like the kind that’s designed with children in mind; a toxic bright colouration that makes it look so delectable.]
Consider, a sculpture, if you will.
no subject
So you're suggesting I create a model of the gunmen to show her. I suppose that would be an interesting use of the supplies here.
no subject
[He gives an encouraging smile, and makes a hand motion to say something like 'go on'.]
Ffff...?
no subject
I have no experience with this, so to be honest, I'm not really sure how to get started...
[i'm so sorry misfire. he can probably figure it out if you want to give him an example!!]
no subject
Figured as much. Don't worry buddy, I've got you covered. See this stuff? [He holds up the plasticine.] It's an artistic mush that we use our hands to make into shapes. Watch, and learn.
[He cracks open the pot in the middle of the store and scoops out some bright orange. His hands aren't exactly the best for this kind of work, considering they're like...metal, and all. Lots of indentations to be had. Bits to get stuck in the joints.]
You've just gotta roll it up and shape it out into whatever you want it to be. The possibilities are endless, really.
[The clay starts to take on a lumpy stick figure-like shape. With a delicate touch, he presses two eyes and a mouth into a lopsided :( face.]
Behold. [He holds up the ...thing with a misplaced proud energy.] It's you.
no subject
I see... Well, I certainly appreciate that you thought to make one of me, but do I truly look that upset?
[yes.]
no subject
But also, yes. Yes you do.
no subject
I'm really not upset that frequently... but I'll be sure to keep that in mind. It seems as though I'll need a little time to figure it out for myself.
[But!! He's determined now!! He picks out a few suitable colors and gets to work, trying to focus less on the details and more on the feelings. How exactly that's supposed to express itself through art he really isn't sure, but he's giving it an honest attempt!!]
no subject
[He says that like he just dropped some hot piece of profound wisdom.]
Best of luck, bud. I believe in you.
no subject
Thank you, I'll do my best.
[He's very hard at work so you've accomplished... something!! Maybe he's enjoying himself, it's sort of hard to tell.]
