Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

Debilitating trash.

But I'm sure you can conjure something up in your imagination.

[ Vholran is ~supreme~ to everything so he prefers not to bother with the machine most of the time. ]

[ He lets his silence speak for him. ]

Anything that falls into that category is hopefully beyond the means of this place.

[ A moment of silence for what could be. ]

It depends on that luck of yours.

[ For all they know next time one of the items could be simply a gush of water to the face... ]

[ Waves his hand. ]

Like I said, luck is my worst stat. But I wouldn't call it low either.

[vholran]

...And your highest "stat" is what, exactly?

[buriedstar]

Magic, of course.

[vholran]

A natural result of being titled the high-ranking mage.

How one continues to claim that despite a time period of being dead sounds like it shouldn't be possible.

[ He snickers. No one else has talked to him about that, actually? It's really funny. ]

I'd show you, but all my spells are sealed here. Think of it like this: if you're 10 laps ahead, getting taken out of the race is a handicap, but not an insurmountable one. At least for someone like me.

A pity.

[ Unsurprisingly, Vholran would be interested in that. Obviously because it'd help their situation, and, well. Power is power.

Leadership, ability, skill...what makes someone powerful comes down to a combination of those three things. ]

Interesting how death isn't able to impede you any. But, once you've died, how would you return to the land of the living...?

There's a quest for it, actually. The system spits out a number of requirements and if you're successful, you get revived.

It's not a common thing, before you imagine a world where everyone's reviving left and right. The system wasn't done with me, in other words.

What is this 'system' supposed to be, exactly? Some kind of...powerful entity?

That's one way to look at it. But it's not run by any one person or organization, and it's not sentient either. Think of it as "logic" of the universe, except more complex. Gravity, arithmetic, physics...and now the system.

[vholran]

An interactive construct.

[ Since it indeed sounds like a being that has no sentience, exactly, so not exactly the same kind of thing he would despise, but it is ... close to it, in a sense.

It's interesting, in a way. ]

And no one is in charge of this 'system' of yours?

[buriedstar]

No. A lot of people would like to be, though. If anyone does manage it, they could rule the world.

Or destroy it, of course.

[vholran]

Destroying a world after holding such power would be a waste.

[buriedstar]

I take it you would want to rule then?

[vholran]

I would.

I'd say that makes two of us, but my ambitions aren't quite that grand. Yet.
