Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

What sort of things did you wear in the village, if you don't mind my asking...?

Longer robes, primarily, usually in white or gray. All of our clothes were simply made, with only the occasional bit of color due to our lack of materials.

What was it like in the village you came from...? Again, assuming you don't mind answering... I know it's a hard subject for a lot of people.

[Oh, that's... Yes, it's a hard subject, but not one that he's ever shied away from.]

It was... certainly not an easy life. I was more or less taken in by Father Magin - the leader of our village - after my mother died when I was a child, so I did not have it nearly as bad as some did. Though we didn't have much in the way of resources, Father Magin did manage to keep us alive.

[Though the exact way is still a complicated and very difficult subject.]

We were a close community despite the hardships - or perhaps because of it. But I chose to leave when the opportunity arose, and I have no regrets about it.

I can imagine the closeness that comes with that sort of arrangement... At the same time, I don't blame you at all for leaving.

[God knows he left the Deeprealm every chance he got. Never for long, granted, but still...]

It's good that you had someone to look after you, however. Even if the situation was far from ideal. My parents, my family in general... They weren't deceased, but I didn't really get to see them growing up.

I imagine it must have been trying in its own way.

[Even worse than knowing your parents are dead, possibly. But he shakes his head once that's out there.]

Being able to see more of the world is always a good thing, I think. I learned so much after leaving Adai; it was good for me.

I'm sure. Being with a small number of people like that... It's difficult to get new ideas, to learn new things - you just have what the village knows. I can understand that much.

I'm glad you were able to experience that.

Yes, of course. I'm glad you were as well.

[Though it sounds like Forrest's situation may not be quite as good as his was... But maybe it's best to move on.]

Have any of the others taken you up on the offer for your designs?

They have!

[How many have, I don't know because time has no meaning in one's top-levels and also because there are nine damn people in here.]

Honestly, I'm glad; it gives me something to do with myself as an activity. It isn't that I don't like talking to all of you, because I certainly do, but I like having something to do with my hands.

There's a good amount of variety here as well, so I imagine you would keep yourself busy even without offering your services to everyone. I'm glad; you seem to be having a good time.

[Which is important after. Y'know. Everything that just happened. Gotta have some fun here somehow!]

I am. I feel a little guilty, admittedly, but I don't feel like Adaman and Hodaka would want me to be sad forever, either.

No, I can't imagine they would be.

[He doesn't want to speculate on what they would have wanted, but that much certainly feels accurate. It would be a waste of time, as far as Adaman's concerned, right?]

I think it is important that we try to keep our spirits up; finding things we can enjoy in this place is important.
