Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

That being said, he does chuckle at yours. ]

Hee hee. And how, pray tell, do you quantify such a perceptive thing as that?

Imagine the profiles but more in depth, with perimeters such as luck, strength, charisma, and so on. And not made by a biased creator, either. I suppose you could say the system in biased it's own way but...it's an automated mechanic running on pre-established rules. Like math, actually.

Huh... So you're telling me there's some omnipresent machine out there recording people's qualities and displaying them as numbers? And you could change those numbers with clothing of all things?

[ Eeeeeh. Something doesn't sit right with this. ]

Essentially, yes. It's convenient but also a hassle. Everything is ruled by the system and before you ask, it wasn't created by anyone or summoned or anything like that. It simply overlaid itself on the world one day.

[ The explanation is pretty clinical but it's easy to note that Seo Dawon doesn't sound like he's in love with the system either. ]

That's rather unfortunate. I'd like to have a word with whatever higher power decided to tack that on.

Oh? Are you the iconoclastic type?

Mmmh... Somewhat. I'm not out to actively fight God, but I do have some reservations on how He runs things at times.

I'm an atheist. More than a few Gods exist, but actually listening to their decrees is for fanatics.

I see... Your gods actually talk to their followers, then? What an odd world you live in.

In a manner of speaking, but it's more a system than actual religious worship for most. Priests, holy knights and paladins all get skills from their Gods, you see.

... Huh.

So what sort of jobs do people have that don't rely on the gods?

[buriedstar]

Oh, plenty. Mages, alchemists, assassins, warriors, just to name a few. Gods are for the "holy" attribute users.

I see...

What odd occupations those are. To think, there's a world where an assassin would be making an honest living.

[buriedstar]

They can still make a dishonest one too. As long as they don't get caught~.

[ The world as an MMO continues to be wild. ]

Heh!

[ MMO world is incredibly wild to someone who has never played one. ]

Said like a true member of the underworld... Crime hasn't truly changed much, has it?

At its core? Not at all. On its face? Plenty.

Not that I would know much about it.

From his junk pile he reaches down and takes the game. The rest can stay here for now, maybe he'll be back to clean up later. ]
