Week 3

Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

...I see. I suppose that is the hazard of hereditary rule, is it not?

...

My country's people are doing very well, but our emperor is nearing the end of his life and has not yet named his successor. He has been unwell for some time, to the point where I would not be surprised if I learned of his death upon my return. I am concerned that if he does not name anyone, we will face a civil war.

Hopefully it won't come to that. War is always such a hideous thing... It's somewhat inevitable where I come from, even moreso if we fail in our current endeavor, so I understand.

[If this war doesn't accomplish what it's supposed to do, we're going to be facing so much more war.]
howveryglib: linefacing at SOMETHING. (hm. that sure is a potential war crime.)

War is indeed an unfortunate necessity when inaction will undoubtedly lead to worse consequences. I always find it most difficult when one’s own countrymen are responsible for the conflict and thus become the enemy, but the peace that comes after is ever the goal.
