Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

It's a strange sort of feeling, waking up on Sunday. Not the least because, well... you fell asleep on Friday, didn't you? Whether you sleep or not, none of you remember Saturday. Everything, by all accounts, seems to be Sunday. Weird.

It's not all bizarre feelings of lost time that you have to show for your efforts, though - it seems that another wing of New Rapture is ready for you. Perhaps there's more information to be found about your situation there... and maybe more about the history of this place, if that interests you.

There are still 23 of you left... Keep getting to know them. There's regains to get, after all!

Even if it was asked nicely, it would be a more than a little rude~. And general speaking, everyone has fairly polite in general. Besides, maybe Vhloran?

Hmph. I suppose that depends on your definition of "polite." Though I would say at worst, the individuals I have spoken with here have been mildly abrasive, Vhloran included. Hardly worth wishing anyone ill over.

That's true. My own patience is fairly high, but that's a required attribute for a guild leader.

[ He tips his head slightly. ]

And hardly worth killing someone else over, of course, though I wonder if that will change. Or if future killings will continue to be crimes of opportunity, or something similar.

I wonder about that myself. There is plenty of time for conflict to arise, even if we all seem to be getting on well enough at the moment… I would hope that would discourage further killings, but hope often has very little to do with reality.

Particularly given the psychological warfare aspect.

[gestures at radio…]

Hope isn't anywhere that close to romantic, unfortunately.

[ But despite his wording, he doesn't sound bothered by it in the slightest. He eyes follow the movement to the radio with a small smile. ]

While there are worse ways to deliver reminders, there's something to be said of simplicity. It's important to shore up what defenses we can, even if it means neglecting weaker ones.

...I would prefer not to ignore the weaker ones. I knew Hodaka was not doing particularly well with the hostage situation, and yet I did not keep as close an eye on him as I truly should have.

That's noble of you.

[ It's not said as a bad thing, just simply stated. ]

We keep reminding each other of those we know back home. Olim-noona would have said the very same thing, and lectured me about virtues about looking out for everyone.

It's not something I can often entertain given the circumstances. But in this case...I told Hodaka what he was willing to hear, but that wasn't enough either. Once people make up their mind, there's really not much you can do, in most cases.

...there had to have been some way to stop him. At the very least, I am sure he would have had more of a difficult time with me than Adaman.

Well, I would hope so.

[ He looks up at Gaius, his lip curling up in amusement. ]

But unless you were willing to stay with him 24/7, it likely still wouldn't have changed much.

...I know. I understand that, and yet I still cannot help but feel I failed him on some level.

[ He's quiet for a moment, perhaps reflecting on the other man's words. ]

...it's human to feel that way. And failure can lead to growth too, though I understand it doesn't really work in this instance. Still, you did what you thought was enough at the time.

Don't disregard that entirely, Baelsar.
