SECOND INVESTIGATION
It's easy to think, with how much... less this week's motive seems to be than the last, that perhaps nothing will happen. But then again, someone was poisoned yesterday, so perhaps you're already on edge. No one could blame you, in this place. Even on the brightest days, New Rapture is dark.
There's no blood in the elevator, at least, but... your radios are all pretty quiet, this morning.

But there is a rather enticing looking blood trail, leading from the garden back behind the hotel, to...
Well. The pool. ]
no subject
okay then
you know what, he'll follow that trail. to the pool. where there is certainly not a dead person, right?]
no subject
The trail ends there. ]

Fortunately, Forrest has on a dress from the department store that he really doesn't care about outside of finding it cute, and he will without hesitation get in the damn water; thankfully he can swim, if the body isn't in the shallow end. (Where is the body respective to the deep/shallow end, incidentally?)
He'll be making it out there and turning whomever it is over, in the absolutely futile hope that maybe the body isn't indicative of having been dead for a while. Who is he looking at?]
no subject
Empty eyes stare back at him, but what must draw attention is his shirt stained with just so much blood. He's as cold as Adaman was. There's no mistaking it.
Obi is dead. ]

He can't believe what he's seeing at first, he refuses to believe what he was seeing. He just saw Obi last night, he seemed perfectly fine.]
Oh God... my dear Obi...
[Jonathan falls to his knees, wailing in despair.]
You promised me you wouldn't go out alone! You promised you'd let me look after you!

...That said, this is the opposite of what he wanted to see today. All right. He'll at least be able to drag him over to the shallow side of the water with some difficulty; when he gets there, though, he is going to need some assistance in getting the body out of the water, seeing as he doesn't want to just bash Obi on the steps the whole way up.
Any volunteers...?]
no subject
Fuck.
no subject
[For once, he doesn't seem to know what to say.]
I... I'm sorry.
[He says it on reflex, as something to say.]
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, he didn't deserve any of this.
no subject
Sorry lol!]
no subject
I got him.
[...Damn.]
And you. You ready?
[He's going to make sure Forrest is ready, wondering if he's going to take one side, or if Dandy will have to do most of the heavy lifting.]
no subject
I'm ready, yes.
[He'll take...god he doesn't know, his legs probably? If that makes it easier.]
I just didn't want to hit him against anything, we should probably preserve what we can...
no subject
Don' worry about it. We'll get him outta here. [She's entirely too casual about this, ignoring the way her heart is hammering in her chest, and poor Jonathan's cries from the side of the pool.]
Ready.
no subject
[Dandy wades into the water with no care or regard for his own attire. He ignores the ringing in his ears, or how cold Obi feels after Dandy sets himself into position.]
On the count of three, we lift- Slow and steady now.
One, two...
[The poor thing is so fucking cold, so limp-]
Three!
no subject
I'm so sorry for the disrespect of this icon but it was too funny to not use--Zinda nods at Dandy-- this at least, she can do-- no matter how ill-suited her attire is for it. On three, she lifts, hauling the body of her friend out of the water.]
We settin him down just on the side here?
no subject
[Dandy ignores the siren's call of his own anger, along with the sensation of his damp slacks clinging to his body. He will be entering the trial like this, sopping wet, unable to shake the stiffness of a kind young man's body out of his mind.]
How 'bout we kneel on a second set of counts. Here we go!
[He repeats that series of numbers.]
One, two, three, down.
[Obi will be placed so that he's lying right side up near the side of the pool, with his vacant eyes staring at the ceiling. Dandy turns to Forrest.]
Sorry, baby. I'll help you search him, but...
I'm ain't no professional.
no subject
But the more telling part of all of this, is how she doesn't get on Dandy's case when he calls Forrest baby. Instead, she tugs off her wet boots, and starts moving for the door.]
I got another mission to do, before -- [The trial.
She shakes her head-- and heads through the door.]
