Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.

Sunday arrives ahead of schedule again, bringing with it the creeping dread that this is just how this is going to go. Welcome to the murdergame cycle.

At least there's another section of the city available to you! This one even has some things to do without you having to make your own fun. Which also means there's more to find about this place.

There's still over 20 of you alive... maybe that's something to celebrate? It could be worse! But... at least one of you is an attempted killer, apparently. Either way, better keep talking if you want regains!

[ It takes Seo Dawon a while to spot Brett with the nachos, but when he does he walks over with a friendly wave. He stares at the nachos for a second longer then necessary. ]

...I'll have to remember to cook next week, hostages or not.

That'd be nice. Though you might have fewer takers, after what happened with Tommy.

[Pretty much anyone probably would, he thinks - though Seo didn't make himself look too good at that last trial.]

We never did get to the bottom of that, did we? It's strange that whoever made an attempt didn't try again given that they couldn't have known Penelope had plans of her own.

[inaclearing]

Wouldn't have been that hard. I think maybe we've all been a little lax with our food.

[Brett hasn't necessarily walked away from a meal like it sounds like Tommy did, but less out of caution and more because...that's sort of an odd thing to do overall.]

I'm surprised they went for him, honestly. He's a big guy. Easier to be sure you've used enough poison with someone smaller.

[More like Brett himself, even. He's taller than Tommy, but Tommy definitely outweighs him.]

There's certainly easier targets, but then again if they had taken that into account they likely would have made sure he was dead before fleeing. I'm curious whether they'll try again this week, but they'd be a fool to use the same method again either way.

[ At least they have a profile, though. ]

...I guess there's not much we can do except wait and see. They didn't leave anything behind for us to figure out who they were...even if they had, I don't know what we'd do about it.

[Do they have the resources to...lock someone up?]

[ He will just out and say it because as noted at trial, he doesn't dance around things. ]

If we had a solid lead, doing nothing isn't an option. Our resources are limited but not completely restricted and we gain more of them each week.

Even using just what's present in the hotel, we have the means to imprison someone if it came down to it.

[inaclearing]

Do we? Where you do think we'd do that?

[Like, genuinely asking. It's not like Brett walks around with an eye to places he could lock people up; he's just pretty sure that most of the rooms here do not lock from the outside?]

It's rudimentary but in a scenario like this, you really don't need more than rope and a strong enough anchor point?

[ Closes my eyes. ]

...that doesn't really sound like a long-term strategy.

[buriedstar]

Of course not. But it would be a suitable enough stopgap if we needed one.

[inaclearing]

...I guess. I doubt we'll need it anyway.

[There's really no way to tell who did it now, and if they try again...well, Brett doesn't really think they'd screw it up like that twice.]

Hopefully not, one way or the other.
