Week 4
Good morning, New Rapture. A new day is dawning.
Sunday arrives ahead of schedule again, bringing with it the creeping dread that this is just how this is going to go. Welcome to the murdergame cycle.
At least there's another section of the city available to you! This one even has some things to do without you having to make your own fun. Which also means there's more to find about this place.
There's still over 20 of you alive... maybe that's something to celebrate? It could be worse! But... at least one of you is an attempted killer, apparently. Either way, better keep talking if you want regains!

Investigation!
He bolts to the lobby, still in a loose shirt and sweatpants as if he'd been asleep, and stares up at the clock again. Looking around...there's no sign he was just here at all.]
The hell...?
[But there's not much to do about that right now, so eventually he does end up just going back to bed.
In the actual morning, he goes to look around the new row of shops. The darkened and more rural air of Goddess Row hovers somewhere between creepy and comforting. Close your eyes a little, and you could imagine it's some backwoods part of Whitetail in the middle of the night. You know, if you tried real hard.
The church immediately attracts his attention, simply for looking as abandoned as it does. He enters and runs a finger along the dusty back of one pew, before walking up to inspect the wall of holy symbols.]
...isn't that the Jedi symbol?
[Yeah, he's investigating in here starting with this stuff. Is it the Jedi symbol, lol?
After that, he retreats back to the bowling alley. He's not bowling, but he is sitting at a counter just fully laying into a plate of nachos. It's possible that he hasn't sat down to have an actual real meal since like, late Thursday. He kinda still looks like shit? Oops.]
church
Instead, she’s just about to get a pop culture lesson.]

[He'll point out the Jedi symbol!]
It's from a movie. I guess some people say they're Jedi on the census or whatever, but that's just for fun - it's a movie thing.
no subject
A movie thing? The worlds gettin weirder and weirder each day. But I’ll bite. What’s it about? Do they do judo?
no subject
[NOT ALL CENSUSES ARE ABOUT YOU]
They fight with laser swords and use a thing called the Force. The mystical energy that binds the universe together. Also it's all in space.
no subject
like a Green Lantern, actually.
no subject
[He says, not really in a "what is that" tone so much as a "why are we bringing comics into this now" tone.]

Investigation!

Are any of these given a place of precedence, as far as he can tell, or is it just a Wall Of Stuff?]
no subject
They seem to range in size more than they have places of particular precedence - those four, for example, are on the smaller side. They're also all removable, assumingly so that they could be taken elsewhere and used if like. "In front of everyone else" didn't do it for you. ]
no subject
He'll grab one off the wall, though, just to see if anything happens. The diamond one, let's say, since it's smaller and doesn't look too heavy!]
no subject
Nothing in particular, though it makes it clear that the dust in here settled over the symbols, rather than under. ]
no subject
If we're done with this wall o'stuff, he'll go to check out the altar next! Feels very horror-movie-esque, maybe a demon will jump out.]

bowling alley
...I'll have to remember to cook next week, hostages or not.
no subject
[Pretty much anyone probably would, he thinks - though Seo didn't make himself look too good at that last trial.]
no subject
We never did get to the bottom of that, did we? It's strange that whoever made an attempt didn't try again given that they couldn't have known Penelope had plans of her own.
no subject
[Brett hasn't necessarily walked away from a meal like it sounds like Tommy did, but less out of caution and more because...that's sort of an odd thing to do overall.]
I'm surprised they went for him, honestly. He's a big guy. Easier to be sure you've used enough poison with someone smaller.
[More like Brett himself, even. He's taller than Tommy, but Tommy definitely outweighs him.]
no subject
[ At least they have a profile, though. ]
no subject
[Do they have the resources to...lock someone up?]

bowling alley
[Forrest enters the bowling alley carefully; it's clear that he has no idea what this place is used for, though the acoustics in here imply that it may get very loud when used for its intended purpose. Huh.
Anyway, he's carrying something?]
I was looking for you.
no subject
[Don't worry about what he found there, he hasn't found it yet, but we've already determined it's a weird place! Brett grabs a napkin, cleaning off his hands as if to pretend that he wasn't just being a huge nacho gremlin.]
What's up?
no subject
I finished your coat. I, ah... I thought it might help a little, after everything that happened.
[He'll hand it over! It's a rather pretty dark green, formally-cut and double-breasted; it'll go with the suit and any other multitude of things. Embroidered into the lapels are a pair of red birds; they don't look exactly like any birds you've ever seen, but they're shaped in a general way that implies they're likely songbirds of some sort - they're kind of round and friend-shaped.]
I hope it's to your liking.
no subject
[Brett...quickly dries off his hands a second time on a clean napkin, because now he just feels like he's made of grease, and then rises to take the jacket.]
This looks fantastic, Forrest! I can't believe you did all this so fast. [He saw embroidery, sort of - must've taken ages to do those birds. Brett puts it on and adjusts the fit, hands careful on the lapels.] Wow, thank you! This is the nicest thing I own! In general, I mean. That's a pretty low bar for stuff we've got here.
no subject
Oh, I'm so glad you like it! If you find anything that needs adjusting or mending, you can always let me know and I'll fix it up for you.
[Heeee.]
Those really are quite high compliments. The embroidery took a while, but I think it was time well-spent.
no subject
[Geez, look at this. He's really happy with it, but it also makes him feel a little sheepish? It's quite the gift.]
I wish I could make you something in return.
